Despite being bigger and more impressive than its predecessors, Dead Rising 3 never caught on the way its predecessors have. Part of the reason was that the series still kowtowed to the elements of its past. Players still had to deal with the clumsy controls and an archaic design that became an obstacle for fun.

The post is seemingly from an account that loathed works by Spike Chunsoft (the developer of AI: The Somnium Files), including Zanki Zero: Last Beginning and Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls over allegedly pedophilic content.

As an aside, a young character in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls has a backstory where she was sexually abused. The Twitlonger post author claimed this was designed to be erotic for the games fans, as oppose to revolting, shocking, or making players feel pity for the character.

Meanwhile, Zanki Zero: Last Beginning has tragic back-stories for all their characters, all if then centering around the murder of a child. Some characters had backstories with sexual abusive events happening to them at young ages.

These include a character who traded sex to a teacher for protection from bullies at middle school, an older man stating his sexual interest to a younger boy, a child discovering they were the result of an incestuous relationship, and a character who was forced into an incestuous relationship with their own father.

The revelation at the games content caused the Twitlonger author to become exceptionally upset. When they were crying about it on the AI discord, an assumed moderator kicked them.

The rest of the post discusses how the user was kicked from another Discord server prior (focused around the Dangan Ronpa series).

When the moderator who kicked them due to their outburst acted in a manner the author deemed inappropriate (She retweeted a really shitty joke about Ota getting raped while cross-dressing) they attempted to reveal this to other members of the Discord server. They were kicked again.

Its always these types of people.

Noted! I'm not deep into Part 5 but Gold Experience and Sticky Fingers have some pretty fun powers so I'm sure the fights will be great.

Sticky Fingers gets really creative. So much that looking back it looks like he was going really easy on Giorno (which he probably was). Gold Experience does too but it's kind of in a silly BS (power as the plot demands) way like hamon which also kind of makes sense since it was supposed to emulate hamon a bit.

Have fun with Part 5! Just keep in mind the jojo for that part is a lot more meh than previous jojos and that there's a bit less character interaction because the story is faster-paced. Also really anti-climatic ending. Don't have high hopes for it. The rest of the battles are the best up to then.

I think this is because of the difference between a new feature and fixing a broken system.

I agree that it was necessary to curate the physical/special moves by hand, I just don't think it's an innovation so much as it is fixing something that was clearly broken with the mechanics of the series. Some features are excluded from Pokemon Go and Let's go for the sake of simplicity, but they would never make a modern game using the old split or broken typings because there's no point breaking the mechanics once they've been fixed. Again, fixing those things was super important, I'm just not as impressed by fixing obviously broken things as I am by actually introducing exciting new features.

Exactly what Im saying. Fixing broken core mechanics are more essential/important but definitely less visible. Although the topic title does say Favorite as well as most important so your answers are still valid of course.

They didn't do breeding, abilities, or held items (or a few other new mechanics from various generations), but I think that's mostly because Pokemon Go doesn't have them, and Let's Go is meant to be part Go and part mainline Pokemon, to help ease casual players into the mainline formula.

In any case, whether or not Let's Go has them, breeding and held items are such major features in the games that they take the top spots together IMO

Breeding, abilities, and held items are additions that thoroughly improved the complexity of the combat and gameplay mechanics as well as in the foreground as things to consider while the physical/special split and type changes are in the background but theyre more essential. As Lets Go showed you can still have a modern Pokemon game that doesnt have the additional mechanics of later gens while I cant imagine a modern game not having the special split or using the horrible type chart of the first game.

Held items and gender/breeding are the new mechanics that grew the deepest roots into the franchise's future games.

Circadian and weekly schedules are also a major feature. The concept of shiny Pokemon also proved to be a huge part of Pokemon despite being a very simple in-the-background concept.

The rest of the things aren't insignificant, but they are more like natural progression for the series in terms of content and user-friendliness.

Lets Go showed that those werent absolutely necessary while they obviously still kept the special split and type changes.
