every xeno game is takahasi trying to tell the same story over and over about religion and robots. none of them, aside from the actual numbered titles in a given series, is related to each other.

xenoblade has as much in common with xenosaga as dragon quest does with final fantasy

replace xenoblade with any other xeno series and xenosaga with any other xeno series and it's just as true

Actually yes, there is. This tells me all I need to know, in that you never played the game games, or you would know that Klaus was in both Chronicles 1 and Chronicles 2. Well, ok, only half of him was in XC2, but you get the idea.
