Pass a 35 Barter check down at Cottonwood Cove and trade them for food. 5 at a time, and then the last 3. This should shoot you straight to Idolized. 3. Save 4. Fast travel to a safe area, and Wait until you receive the Caesar's Favor quest. If you don't receive it, reload and try a different location. 5. Either way you can turn in NCR dogtags to them for Legion fame as well, and you can pick up plenty of those from dead NCR dudes without ever killing one, let alone if you decide to start massacring them because they're weaker than Fiends. Damn, forgot to mention this, though it is kind of a broken quest reward. If you haven't gained enough Legion fame to access their caches (Caesar's Favor quest), try to avoid doing so until you have at least 43 dog tags (easy steal from NCR grunts, or pickups from corpses in some areas). Then trade them for food (35 Barter check with Severus in Cottonwood Cove) 5 at a time, then the last 3. The goal is to go straight to Idolized, since a bug keeps the quest reward from updating based on your current rep after the first 6 days of receiving the quest. The quest reward, a bunch of loot that refills every few days near Cottonwood Cove and the safehouse with the glasses, is very generous. Tons of ammo, med supplies, Legion currency, and guaranteed Stealth Boys. As mentioned above, there's also a Explosives check that you can do over and over to gain fame and exp. I always get Survival up to at least 45 for the Travel Light perk.
