I think that's fair. It was really the first time a lot of us had any exposure to an actual 3D world, and if you were a kid when this was released this was probably the biggest thing in gaming you had seen so far.

I still vividly remember going to rent a game from the local video store. They got in the system and games early and the owners son was playing it behind the counter (they had a big television set up where they would run movies all day or employees could play games when it wasn't busy). Seeing Mario run around that castle for the first time just left me stunned. I almost couldn't believe what I was seeing.

All in all I'd say yea, but not in a typical sense. Like the gameplay is ok, but I honestly don't think its as good as people make it out to be. It accomplishes what it sets out to do, but its just not all that engaging to me.

What I find fun about the series is exploring the world. The enemies and atmosphere are simply unmatched. I always love seeing what horrifying boss I'm going to be fighting next or what the next creepy area will look like. That, and taking down an enemy who fills the screen is what I find fun about it

Not sure if I'm seeing much on this list I want though (even though I only did a quick skim).

No Bloodbourne and the price of God of War 3 isn't great.

Its kinda weird to me. My friends and I played the crap out of Goldeneye and I played through the campaign I don't know how many times. When Perfect Dark was announced I was incredibly hyped. Everything about it made it seem like a game we were going to play forever.

Then when it released. Nothing. I mean I think I got it day one and I remember thinking it was an obviously better game than Goldeneye, but something about it never clicked with me. I remember my friends and I played the multiplayer once or twice and while it was fun we kind of just dropped it. I loved everything the game was throwing out, but for some reason I didn't love the game. Same thing with TWINE kinda. I got that game for Christmas the year it released and remember enjoying the campaign, but then never played it again. I couldn't even tell you what happened past the first stage. I think I was going through a weird teenage phase at that time and may have lost interest in gaming for awhile

Ah, that last one especially. My team got wiped, and all I had was a deagle with a single clip left, and four on the enemy team still alive. Everyone watching, getting hyped, the final kill with my last bullet, even the adult who owned the place jumped out of his seat.

That reminds me of one time my friend and I were playing Halo 2. We were on separate teams and playing team deathmatch. There were only a few seconds left and amazingly everyone else was waiting to respawn. We're both on opposite sides of the map and we each open a door and see each other. We both happen to only be holding the energy swords so we start running at each other. If that wasn't tense enough the next kill wins the match. So we three seconds left we're gaining distance on each other. We both swing at the same time and.....the match ends before either gets a kill.

It was one of the most cinematic things I've ever seen in a multiplayer match and the odds of everything coming together like that again are astronomical

In a mythology class, a fundie student (we called em Jesus freaks back then) asked me why I referred to the deities in the myths in the present tense (for example, I said things like Zeus is the king of the Olympian gods instead of saying was). My reply was that all deities are neither more nor less real and existing now than they were in ancient times. It took him a while, though, to figure out that I had just dismissed his deity as an ancient myth. A number of others in the class, though, including the teacher, caught it right away and had a nice smile at the freaks expense.

Without a doubt, there was a fedora tipped at some point during this exchange

I'm pretty hyped. As someone who really enjoyed BO 4, I'm really glad they have gone back to their roots with this one. Ground War is a mode I've been wanting in CoD for years and rumor is they are going to bring back a battle royal for this game in a few months. Best of all is the campaign though. I haven't fully enjoyed a campaign since BO2 or Ghosts so going back to a more grounded story is a huge deal for me.

Also I can not get down with those Game Fuels. I've only had the blue one but there is this weird after taste I can't get past. I will say though that as unnecessary as the tab is, the whole design of the can is really cool.

Fall (Can still do plenty of outdoor activities, plus all the events going on during this time. Not to mention October is the best month of the year with Halloween ending it all off)

Summer (I personally will never get the hate for summer. There is just so much to do outside that I don't care with having to put up with the heat. I live in the south too so the humidity is just awful, but I still love summer)

Winter (I like this season because its a chance to kinda just "chill" and get caught up with indoor stuff. I don't have to deal with much snow though so I can see why people hate this season)

Spring (This season sucks mostly. I can just never be comfortable. Cold in the morning and hot in the afternoons, plus its always soggy or rainy outside. Its also just boring. Gross)

EDIT: I ordered mine from best to worst

1% special edition (It seems every 6 or 7 years a game will come out with a special edition with something I'd like to add to my gameroom. First it was the Halo 3 helmet, then the Mortal Kombat bookends, and most recently it will be the Doom: Eternal helmet).
