The ranking looks justifiable enough if you apply just the right weights to different types of "momentum," I guess. I suspect that Warren's slow and steady gains are less brittle than the firecracker-enthusiasm voters are showing for Harris after the first debate, but we'll see.

Yooka-Laylee captures some of the BK magic but feels a little Brand X in some ways. Most notably, I could feel the game struggling against the Unity engine. As AlisLandale points out, there's a floatiness to the movement. The boss battle and some cutscenes are also somewhat clumsy.

If you're looking to scratch that retro 3D platforming itch then play BK, BT, SM64... even DK64... first. If you've already played all of those and want something new, then Yooka-Laylee is worth a look. It's not bad... just don't expect it to live up to the games that inspired it.

Nah, that's doubtful. He's already met the donor threshold for debate #3, positioned a little behind O'Rourke. He needs to get his polling numbers up but he's in better shape than Castro, Booker, Klobuchar, Delaney, Gabbard, Inslee, Hickenlooper, Tim Ryan, Williamson, Bennet, Bullock, and de Blasio... so most of the field.

Eh, I would say he is about equal with Booker and Klobuchar. They generally poll higher than he does, but have fewer individual donors. You need both to qualify

Fair point. My thinking is that money is the more important of the two factors since that's the fuel that sustains campaign operations... but I suppose money becomes a moot point if a candidate fails the polling threshold and falls out of the debates.

iirc, Borderlands gates off areas of the map and chunks of side quests behind main campaign progression, while Skyrim is pretty much entirely open to you after you complete the brief introductory set-piece.

I didn't hate Season 4 but I couldn't get through season 5 part 2. Maybe the gap was too long and I just don't get the inside jokes anymore. I dunno. I think I laughed twice in 3 episodes and then lost my motivation to keep going with it.

The most likely explanation I've seen is that it was a lipstick flake, with the sudden disappearance being a byproduct of poor frame rate-- similar to the kind of effect you see in security camera footage sometimes.

I wouldn't totally rule out the compression /artifact theory yet either. Notice how the screen is blasted with a red background in the middle of Gabbard's answer.

I can't blame people for being skeptical-- the footage is perplexing and the way in which the red pixels move with Gabbard's chin is a mystery that begs to be solved-- but I also see no reason to jump to conclusions here.

Dreamcast and Genesis are worth owning, no questions asked. The Saturn is a fascinating piece of hardware with a small but unique library-- a lot of fun if you have a little bit of a game museum thing going. Access to the Saturn library comes with some difficulty though... some of the best games are hundreds of dollars (used) if you want an English version. The Saturn takes some effort.

I Am Setsuna is still sitting in my backlog, which isn't exactly high praise but I also can't really knock it. I can vouch for Octopath Traveler though; that game was amazing.

I don't have a ton of faith in SE but I think they're capable of making a worthy CT successor under the right conditions and with the right internal team.

He only repeats this part of his message every so often, but Bernie has acknowledged that the changes he espouses require the backing of the public in a sustain political movement, spanning several elections. Judging by the last few years, he's been successful in terms of building that movement. Somehow, even with the major parties resisting him and without winning the nomination in 2016, he's still managed to reshape the Democratic Party in his image. Most of the 2020 candidates have adopted Bernie's positions, which were ridiculed just a few years ago.

I have my doubts as to whether Bernie can see his movement through to the end, but I think it's selling him short to say that he's not making things happen.

Kamala is wicked smart. I knew that after watching various hearings over the last two years, but I wasn't 100% sure how it would translate over to the debate format. Then I watched her literally end Joe Biden's career.

She's not a top-3 pick for me based on policy, but I won't be all that sad if she ends up winning the nomination. It would be satisfying to see her dismantle Trump, at least.

Honestly, I thought that everything about the Wii U made sense on paper.
-Using "Wii" in the name because it was a strong and recognizable brand
-Modeling the tech after a tablet to appeal to the mass market of kids who play games on Mom's iPad
-Architecture very similar to the Wii to make development easier

Instead... the name confused grandma, the tablet confused developers, and the hardware was under-powered.

I'm in Warren's camp based on policy, and I think she commanded the center podium well at her debate. Credit to Buttigieg though, who impresses me with every word he speaks. And Harris absolutely killed it last night. Her two big moments-- the "food fight" quip and the bussing anecdote-- were totally calculated and pre-prepared, but she delivered them smoothly. Harris was the savviest candidate over both nights and did the most to improve her chances, imo.
