I can understand where theyre coming from. Milk was originally just for the white distance from mammals. With the new plant milk, it brings something different. But it does fit the normal definition of milk. So, they call it plant milk rather than just milk. Because it didnt fit under the normal definition of milk.

In the end, I guess you could call it plant cheese, vegan cheese, or fake cheese. But probably not just cheese...
I did indeed call it vegan cheese, as does the vegan pizzeria

I make a distinction to say animal cheese if it's not from plants

It's plant milk, as opposed to dairy milk.

It is not dairy

I hate special ordering in general.
By the same logic I could order the beef whopper and ask them to hold the beef. On paper, that works too.
What? I mean you could but that's really not the same as substitutions people do all the time

Most people I know ask for something to be removed. Whether it's pickles or onions or ketchup, or even swapping to a gluten free bun. It's a good move to get fresher food. I just don't like mayo so I have requested my burgers without it my entire life.

I had no idea it uses normal mayo. I thought it was bad enough it shares the same grill as beef. Everyone is talking about that and not the mayo. Looks like I definitely shouldn't go out of my way to try it.
Dude just order it without mayo

That's how I ordered my burgers before going vegan too

nah this place just calls it vegan cheese

i had an impossible burger from burger king...but it wasnt vegan because of the mayonnaise. Or I assume. because they put ketchup and mayo their burgers by default, so i assume this did but i can't recall.

next time ill ask for no mayo, to have a true vegan meal...assuming nothing else has meat in it somehow. lettuce, bun, onions, tomato, fries.
Yeah, the mayo they use is normal mayo. They also cook it on the same grill as the meat if that is of any concern for you for any reason. All the ingredients are vegan save the mayo.

The beyond meat burgers at A&W here don't come vegan and you have to ask for no mayo.

If I get one and I'm taking it home I hit it with some hummus

The mental health system here is better than the US, but there's still lots of holes. We don't catch everyone and even the ones we do get to don't always get sufficient treatment. People still slip through the cracks, even with universal healthcare.
Yep. Rural areas especially. When I was living in a small town I had to drive nearly two hours to a different city for psych appointments involving diagnosis and follow up. What if I didn't drive or couldn't get the time off? What if I needed appointments more than once every three months? It was a hassle that cost me a lot of time and money to deal with.

Better in the cities, but Canada has a lot more to do for mental health care.

I know you're mad that your blanket statement doesnt necessarily hold up for the average american like you think but stay mad I guess
Why aren't you mad?

Services offered by the Office of the Attending Physician include physicals and routine examinations, on-site X-rays and lab work, physical therapy and referrals to medical specialists from military hospitals and private medical practices. According to congressional budget records, the office is staffed by at least four Navy doctors as well as at least a dozen medical and X-ray technicians, nurses and a pharmacist.
Sources said when specialists are needed, they are brought to the Capitol, often at no charge to members of Congress.
"If you had, for example, prostate cancer, you would go to one of the centers of excellence for the country, which would be Johns Hopkins. If you had coronary artery disease, we would engage specialists at the Cleveland Clinic. You would go to the best care in the country. And, for the most part, nobody asked what your insurance was," Balbona said.
In addition to Balbona, several former staff members and private physicians who have consulted at the OAP as recently as last year agreed to talk to ABC News on background. They described a culture centered on meeting the needs and whims of members of Congress, with almost no concern for cost.
Members of Congress do not pay for the individual services they receive at the OAP, nor do they submit claims through their federal employee health insurance policies. Instead, members pay a flat, annual fee of $503 for all the care they receive. The rest of the cost of their care, sources said, is subsidized by taxpayers.
Last year, Congress appropriated more than $3 million to reimburse the Navy for staff salaries at the office. Next year's budget allocates $3.8 million for the office, including more than half a million dollars to upgrade the Office's radiology suite. Sources said additional money to operate the office is included in the Navy's annual budget.
In 2008, 240 members paid the annual fee, though some sources say congressmen who didn't pay the fee were rarely prevented from using OAP services.

Yes I know Americans have health insurance. Most Americans do not have anything resembling that. Getting a specialist flown to you free of charge? Yikes

who was he before Zeus? whats the origin story.

thats honestly all I care about because I can remember a time before Z, then randomly this dude shows up like he's always been here.

maybe he has, idk. the origin story I find compelling to some degree.
I've been here for over 10 years and do not remember him being a regular before 2015.

The timeframe I recall started around the Republican primaries. If he posted prior to then it was extremely infrequent. I haven't been around all the time from 2005 to now, I did have months where I didn't log in. Having been around long and frequent enough I can confidently say that I don't remember him being around this board much if at all before then.

Because it honestly makes more sense than the alternative.
Or someone is flush with unused compromised accounts. Some didn't have the Zeus signature on their first posts and it quickly changed.

I can't imagine anyone would pay for the accounts, but someone taking what they have access to? Happens on many services.

Either way there's seriously no need for that many accounts for one user. I don't get it

The callous answer is to get a new dog. It sounds horrible, especially when the wounds are still fresh, but it's one of the most common and most effective means of coping with the loss.
Story time. One memory of the shelter that stands out was of a family that came to get a new dog after their senior lab passed. They put the dog down due to terminal illness and no quality of life, and it was time for another dog. Nothing wrong there.

It turned out they had put their dog down less than an hour before coming in. They came from the vet to the shelter. I was honestly really shocked to hear that. Their rationale was they'd lost dogs before and knew how painful the in between was and didn't want to deal with that again.

So you know what? It's never too early to consider a new dog. Although I still think it was a little early for that family, but in the end they were happy and the dog has a good home.
