Yes, the parents absolutely should be involved. I think a decent compromise is the school board alerting the parents via some sort of PTA meeting and telling them "hey, we need to come together to discuss what's okay to tell the kids because this kind of information is readily available online and it's a joint effort on both of our parts to keep our kids safe, but also appropriately informed." I think some kind of middle ground like that would be most effective.

You know your boundaries, so I'm convinced you know the pace to set. Some non vocal music might help the creative juices. Something like "meditative music" on youtube, just inoffensive material to kinda stir the mind a little.

That's too late. Education should start before hand so that kids know what to expect. Trying to shield them from "inappropriate material" that they have easy access to anyway much of the time doesn't benefit anyone.

But this kind of information should honestly be discussed in detail with the parents. Yes, I know nobody's perfect and I agree there should be some minimal amount of intervention from the educators - but it shouldn't be entirely up to the educators to tell kids everything. At that point, the state goes from being an instructor to being something of a nanny, a fit in for the parent - and that's not fair to the parents.

I finished it up at 4 AM last night, the two parts I added towards the end are really rough and I just need to kind of game how I'm going to clean it up now. Or maybe I just fix up the grammar a little bit and submit it as is.

Keep going, bud. You're almost at the end, and I'm convinced you've got this in the bag. Do whatever you need to do, but try not to get too distracted from the finish line. I'm sure you've still got time to submit, so do what's necessary and submit that paper like you've never submitted a paper before.

I hope I don't. I extremely appreciate the company and kind words but it feels like an extra burden seeking attention and reassurance on the internet from strangers -_-

I think, if there's one thing I've learned in my life, probably one of the greatest things you can do for someone that you might not ever know is to tell them they still matter and that there will be someone around, somewhere to hear them out.

I may not believe that advice myself some times, but if I can be that person for someone then it's absolutely worth it. You are a good student, you are a good person, don't beat yourself up.

I'd also like to state that my best friend currently works with the specially handicapped at his local high school, and he's looked at as a model teacher in spite of all the abuse and mischief he receives on a daily basis. Some of the stories he's told me wouldn't get me to spend a day there - but he genuinely loves the kids he works with and does it because he cares.

EDIT: My point is that it takes a certain kind of person with a certain level of humanity to work positions that will deal with people at their most challenged or most lowest points - I don't believe for a second any one person off the street can do what these people do, and it comes from more than just general training to know how to adequately and appropriately treat them with both the care and decency they absolutely deserve.

Things like this have been happening for decades, unfortunately. I've been fortunate enough to be in a place several times over that had more than common courtesy and decency for its human inhabitants - but places like this really do exist, where barbaric shit happens behind the walls that nobody hears or knows about or believes.

Just take a quick glance at Willowbrook State School. Sure, it's pretty common knowledge now, but back then this is what passed for "genuinely reformative care."

No joke, I read the book in middle school before watching the original film and for the life of me couldn't figure out why people lauded it as some kind of children's writing. Everything that happened to the kids sounded like some acid-fueled nightmare sequence. It was uncomfortable as all hell reading about girls blowing up and some kid becoming chocolate, or whatever.

Also, Tremere get a one up in that they get their very own haven separate from the rest of the clans you can play as. It's not much, but it's something. Everybody else gets an apartment in the Skylines or whatever, but you get to stay with the leading Tremere primogen in his home. It's neat.

EDIT: I forgot, but Nosferatu also get their own apartment or whatever downtown. I admit, I wasn't aware of this because I never play as Nosferatu.

Same here, at least Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 are available on current gen consoles. I hope one day the Legends games are either remastered or at the very least added to the Xbox One's backwards compatible list.

I was just looking through on Steam and apparently none of those games made it on there. It's weird they got remastered or whatever for current gen, but not PC.

Professors dont generally care if your paper is short as long as it has the right content.

I've got a fun story about this. One of my history professors, one of the coolest teachers I have ever had, had two ways to do our final. Either we come up with some sort of neat constructive project, where we built something with our hands or whatever - or, we write like a six to seven page report on the subject of our choice.

I was always good with my words, so I went with the later. I shit you not, I was one of the last ones to leave on the final day because I enjoyed the class so much and when it was down to just me and one last guy, our teacher takes one of the papers and starts thumbing through it before putting a grade on it. I was literally like "what are you doing?" And he says "I just see how many pages they've typed out, I don't actually read it."

I was fucking floored.

I just did it. I know that doesn't sound very encouraging, but I remember freaking out about it and was worried that it was going to tank my grade as it was the final paper. But I listened to some music, and calmed myself down enough and said "this isn't going to kill me, this isn't going to stop me. I am going to make it through this year." and I just started fluffing the last bits out. Like I said, a lot of that last bit was repeating some of what I had said previously in a different manner, and then some of it was just conjecture on my part - how I personally felt, etc.

It was an English subject, I know that much. It was on Othello, too. I don't remember the exact name of the English, but I made it through.

Now I'm getting anxious over this, a math class final, and an awards ceremony on Tuesday (though I could probably get out of the awards ceremony on Tuesday by using my math class final as an excuse, plus I'm on leave so...).

I believe you can do this. I had to bang out a 10 page paper for college once, and I thought there was no way I could do it. But I did it. Granted, I pretty much coasted the last two pages or so, just padding it out, but I got my grade. I believe you can do this.
