I've worked with these people for almost 6 years now. I didn't even say bye. I didn't wanna make a scene so I acted professionally. Nobody seen it coming. After I gave the letter to HR this morning I walked and talked to people normally. I didn't wanna say anything because like I said in my letter I wrote the terms I was asking for which wasn't much and they didn't budge. I didn't wanna make a scene. Kinda shocking they wouldn't let me stay and train a new person or something. But maybe they had someone in mind already to replace me. These 2 other people I have a coffee with each morning didn't even know. I knew they'd probably talk about it to others and I didn't want that. You've had issues with this since at least April or so, had you not looked at all for a new job? I've looked in April when I was frustrated then changed by mind. But I had enough...I kept getting frustrated their at times again over this. I'll look again in like a week. I could even start up my own business here. I'd get paid close to the same doing a simple trade job. Plus I got other options such as maybe even being a social media manager. I'm not in a rush, plus they still owe me pay for this week and my last vacation week that I didn't took. It doesn't break my heart I gave up benefits also. My dad was an entrepreneur and managed so do many others. Even with a dental plan I only really needed a dentist once in my life. I just save my money wisely for situations like that. So after a year I asked and was denied. Then the year after I asked again (this year) and got a minor raise. Also I was being compensated for doing a higher level task at times, but this guy said I don't even get that anymore (he didn't even know I was getting it) while everyone else in the company puts in for it. That reason there is why on Monday people are gonna talk. I already told many in the company my frustration. I gave them my resignation letter explaining I'm under paid and justified by comparing to another role along with not being compensated for doing a higher level task at times. I wrote in the letter giving 2 weeks, but said if they want me to leave sooner I will but I need it in writing. The manager showed up with HR and said he read my letter and I can leave. So I left. I called a guy at work knows why I was getting frustrated with the company and he said on Monday people are gonna talk and they'll probably push the manager to rehire me. But why spend $10-20K if it's not gonna do much. Right now homes in my area can go for $400-500K. There's some meh ones that need a make over for like $300K lol. Which is middle class for now. I'd also save room for 5-10 mins of answering questions. This would take place at my house so it'd mostly be locals. What's the better price for my time? In 10 years my net worth will be like 700-800K. If my side hustles bring in more that number would be higher. I'm also looking into charging $20 for an hour worth of light working out. I know a woman who runs something similar but doesn't do it often.
