Either way, Cold Steel certainly didn't feel like a harem game or one where the romance is even a major part of the story. It's mostly in there for some light fun. Nothing ever comes of any of it, at least in the first game. It certainly wasn't at Persona levels, if nothing else. --- |

| LeonhartFour 05/21/19 12:04:14 PM #484 | Okay, I finished up that Drama CD script (seriously, that content shouldn't have been stuffed away into a side story), so now I think I can give my final thoughts on the game (just in time to close out the Cold Steel Edition, no less). Much like The Force Awakens did with the original Star Wars, I feel like Cold Steel copies a lot of the same story beats as Trails FC, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It seems reminiscent of a lot of different RPGs in various ways, but in terms of presentation and atmosphere, it actually reminded me a lot of Skies of Arcadia. Some of the songs even have a similar sound to them, at least to me. Trails SC is still far and away the best game in the series I've played thus far, but I'd probably put Cold Steel 1 on par with Trails FC at the very least. Now it's time for character rankings!
