The Pro was great at interacting with the audience and he seemed rather fond of me after I avoided some of his response traps. The Amateur had some budding talent but started to stumble towards the end, likely somewhat fatigued. The Noob tho...oh geez, she made me understand why most people don't find girls funny. We actually picked apart why her stand up didn't work in class the lesson after. Our results were essentially that half her jokes were gender AND age restricted, she didn't survey what kind of audience she had, and she sounded less like a comedian and more like a teacher that drops the topic of class to rant about her current home life and relationship situation, with no over-exaggeration or anything like that to make it funny. We had a really good English teacher who was just super enthusiastic about the art of writing and would explain metaphors and imagery and underlying themes in writing to us. When I see people online get mad at the idea of imagery and metaphors in writing (the "the curtains were just fucking blue!" sort) I always wonder if it's just the way they were taught by a teacher that didn't really get it.
