Isabelle's up air is really good against Puff, it's a solid anti-air. I started doing way better when I relied more on my back-air, seems to kill Isabelle at very low percents. I really need to stop badly spacing my dairs and upairs into a forward smash punish. Isabelle's f-smash is insanely strong

At the percents I was going for it I don't think it was true, I was very low percent both times I did it. I was just messing around to see if I could get it lol

Inkling jab is even better online at low percent, if I miss the tech you can easily tech chase grab up throw up air me for a quick 40%

Btw I think you mostly wanna be trying to throw splat bomb on to the stage right next to the ledge, and timing it to explode after my ledge invincibility runs out. Easier said than done I know

I should probably want to play against you though, I don't really know how Puff beats Pac Man...can't really edgeguard him, his recovery is too good. Can't camp him well because of his item projectiles. And hydrant is just annoying

Have you ever made someone rage over getting killed by rest? Just curious.

More so in Melee. Rest doesn't kill that early in this game so I guess it seems more reasonable. I'm sure getting hit by dair rest feels pretty bad though lol.

Idk how I lost that last game, after the fair rest didn't kill I lost neutral like 20 times in a row lmao

That, and Inkling's jab is also overpowered. I think I might just not know how to get out of it well enough, though. It seems to catch most people from what I observe, though, nearly fully covering them in ink

Up throw up air is ridiculously good at low and mid percents, too, even though it can be hard to grab Jiggs. Inkling's dash dance game is insane though so it can't be THAT hard for Inkling to get the grab. Again, I don't think it's true at high percents and I can rest Inkling out of it then

He uses splat bomb really well for ledge trapping too. Forces situations where I basically have to either normal get up or roll off ledge as the bomb explodes, which is obviously a 50/50 guess for him

Also kinda feel bad I can't give you decent Inkling practice but after playing offline for more than 8 hours in one session I reached the conclusion that playing Inkling online takes years off my life lmao. I'll probably just stick is Isabelle for online and a bit of offline and Inkling for offline when it comes to practice.

I actually did pretty well against my shop's Inkling despite him 5-0ing me, a couple of the games were extremely close to the point I honestly should have won them. He's a monster, though.

I managed to rest him out of up throw up air twice lol. I feel like I should only go for it when I'll die if he connects up air, and I ended up adhering to that for the most part.

Hey man, I've been smashing for nearly 2 decades, and I've been salty myself at least half that time about one thing or another. Some of it player skill based, some character based, some stage based, etc. If anything I took it as a compliment, and I'm aware of how well Puff does against your character choices. Before the Puff buffs you were even or better against me anyway...the dair and fthrow buffs make Puff destroy Doc, fthrow in particular.

Weekly Tournament Report:

Went 4-2 today at my local to get 3rd out of 18 people. Payout was to top 3 so I ended up getting my money back ($10, yay). Lost to the same person twice, the Inkling. Almost took a couple games in Loser's Finals, but sadly he basically ended up 5-0ing me. I saw he has around 1400 hours logged on his Switch, he goes to and hosts a lot of tournaments lol. I can safely say the 1st and 2nd players were above me, and there was one other person, the Banjo I have a lot of trouble with, who finished below me. Got lucky and didn't have to face him. I did have a couple good wins, though. Only 1 easy match.

Well he does say Puff loses to Ike, but yeah I would think it's more like 6-4 than 55-45. Puff loses to pretty much all the sword characters pretty bad. I'm not sure which is worse for her, swordies or zoners like Mega Man, Palutena, Snake, etc.

I personally get the feeling that Bowser beats Puff, but idk. Rest kills Bowser at like 80% or something ridiculous, and his recovery is surprisingly decent. He also needs far, far fewer neutral wins than Puff to get kills

Oh I also changed my opinion about the Belmont match up, Puff probably wins or at worst it's even. Yeah the projectile hellstorm can be difficult to weather and their range is vastly superior, but if Puff gets in it's generally curtains for them. Their recovery is sooooo bad, too, and I'm not sure their ledge trapping is that great against Puff

LOL at fthrow tier for Doc. Viewmaster has good reason to be salty I guess.

I think Puff beats some of these characters way harder than 55-45, Little Mac probably being the most obvious. I think she also loses harder than 45-55 to characters like Snake and Palutena. I find those matchups harder than Lucina for instance, though that matchup is also horrible and may just be due to player skill. Hell, yesterday I was playing against a K Rool I just could not beat because of how well he used super armor to negate my combo starters and turn it into his combo instead. And I tend to think Puff destroys K Rool.

I generally agree with it though, it's just a little conservative for my tastes. There's probably a few more 6-4 matchups in either direction and potentially even some 7-3s.

Edit: If Puff beats Banjo then the guy at my shop who keeps beating me with Banjo is just straight up better than me lol. I don't really see why Puff wins that MU though
