I actually ended up using it to set enemy hp higher in a lot of cases, so I could keep them alive long enough to farm w/ Smash attacks or get a ton of orbs on them for a huge overkill bonus. But it's handy for either purpose. |

Most of it is fine, but some of the main characters are utterly dreadful, which is where you really don't want back VA. Especially Rex and Tora. Ugh.... you can speed up the battle system somewhat with skill choices for the drivers. Prioritize ones that let you start a battle with the Art assigned to X/Y/B buttons immediately available (and slot arts w/ the longest charge up to said spots until you get all 3), and also the skill that lets you immediately use another Art after canceling an Art (or whatever the description is...). Good call and data reception (though I almost never use the latter), sends/receives texts, camera takes quality pictures that I can read the text off of labels from, 8 GB internal storage that can be expanded w/ SD card... Like...not sure wtf else someone would want from a phone to pay $1450 more than I did. That shiny Apple logo? |

Game play (battle system) was the best part, so if you didn't even like that, then damn... story was atrocious and the exploration by far the worst in the XC series. Nall posted... The only thing I disliked about the game was how heavily they relied on skill checks from your blades near the end of the game. I felt like I spend a quarter to half my time in the menus trying to find the right combination of blades to pass a skill check. Not fun at all. Torna the Golden Country is so much better than the main game, it's what XC2 should've been. No damn field checks to progress places (just gather extra resources or discover some optional areas), no gacha mini game for blades (cause they're all story-gained and only 6 of them total, but...I'll take that over praying to RNG hundreds of times and coming up empty), you can actually play as the Blades as characters just like the humans, and even the exploration is better. Danagh desert region was by far my favorite place in XC2, and it interconnects to the other regions of Torna nicely. Hated how disjointed all the titans were in XC2 w/ no way to travel between other than by air ship / fast travel. Plot is still bad, though. |

He and his victim are both from HK, so even if the murder occurred elsewhere, why couldn't/wouldn't the HK authorities arrest and try him in HK? Suikoden V is about a decade before Suikoden I and has far more characters recurring from, and story connection to, the first three games. |

Hell, I even had a 5 year D&D campaign that "borrowed heavily" (....not a complete copy....) from XC1 with Suikoden plot elements (recruiting 108 stars of destiny, forging alliances, engaging in full scale army battles, etc...) I liked the plot so much, and the players thought it was pretty good. Next in line is Radiant Historia, which probably made me tear up with sadness more than any other game and really gets you to care about the characters by the end. After those, I would say next is Baten Kaitos. BK Origins (a prequel that came after the first game) is overall the better story and has a nice barrage of plot twists throughout the game. The original BK (Eternal Wings & The Lost Ocean) has a fairly generic plot, but possibly the most amazing plot twist I've ever seen in any form of media Going back further in time, I always loved the Legend of Dragoon's plot, it was pretty impressive for its time and featured some great character growth by the main character and some incredible plot twists of its own. darcandkharg31 posted... T0ffee posted...Radiant Historia I have both the DS and 3DS remake. Both are great. In terms of story only, I'd actually say the original is slightly better (but the remake has some gameplay improvements and really good voice acting, so overall it's a better game). Can't say why I liked the story in the original better w/o spoilers, but...they tweaked the original ending a bit in a way I didn't care for, and I actually preferred the mystique the original game had vs. the remake laying out in detail the past events that led to the current situation. Not a major issue, though. |

For heinous and/or mass murders, and ones where there's no doubt that the suspect is guilty. Examples: Dylan Roof, the Parkland HS shooter, the Philadelphia synagogue shooter If states can't use the death penalty responsibly, they shouldn't be able to use it. If cops or prosecutors withhold evidence from the defense, falsify evidence, lie under oath, trick a suspect into confessing with no other evidence to tie him to the crime, etc... they should be personally held accountable with fines and jail sentences, prosecutorial immunity is fucking bull shit. And I fully support the Innocence Project and think if DNA evidence is available, it should be checked for every case. Including those already convicted early and even those already executed. The public deserves to know who was wrongly executed, and trying to hide that information for fear it would turn people against the death penalty is inexcusable. |

If Sony could just coast by another 5 years on their existing PS4 install base, releasing a few games each year alongside the third parties, they totally would. But MS is pushing forward, so they don't want to be "left behind." (I'd actually be really interested what would happen if Sony didn't put out PS5 and tried to leverage "you already own a PS4, why buy Scarlet?" for a few years, then unleashed an actual next gen console that wiped the floor w/ Scarlet. Maybe it'd work out well?) DirtBasedSoap posted... Google Stadia is gonna flop HARD I hope so! It represents pretty much everything I fear is gaming's future. Last time I had such fear was the original Xbox announcement, that it marked the beginning of the end of the things I chose console gaming for b/c MS would try and gradually merge the features and drawbacks of console and PC gaming until there was no appreciable difference. For most of the area's history it was important for land crossings and the shipping lanes it provided. More recently with the advent of missiles and aircraft it is also an ideal base of operations to engage targets across the Middle East and Russia (or if they were Russian allies, swap the latter for Europe). They're an ally of convenience. Just like Saudi Arabia (oil). Nothing more. The regime in Turkey currently is abominable and we absolutely shouldn't be allied with them, but we can't afford to sour relations with them. I'd argue even more so than Saudi Arabia. It sucks, but short of trying regime change or conquest...not much we can do about it. |
