I just have to look into the requirements for certification because all I have is the three years professional experience as a PM |

I am about ready to get certified as a project manager professional so that would allow me to land somewhere in a management/lead role, the trouble is I don't have real hands on experience with either construction or IT. Mechanical engineering is pretty much useless unless you want to do calculus and FEA all day, I only have surface level knowledge for the two careers. So I could either A: Work towards becoming a licensed home inspector, then a contractor, then start my own business. I would do volunteer construction to get actual hands on experience first. B: lEaRn HoW tO cOdE. I know the basics of Python, I had to do some coding back in college, I understand how coding works well enough I am just not an expert in it. I would try to learn the prominent coding languages, networking, all that shit, and aim to become a manager/lead. So I wouldn't be the coding monkey, I'd be the clueless guy serving as a manager over the monkeys. Or I could try to develop myself in both areas, I don't know how much crossover I could actually utilize if I did both though. |

It is only a currency, unlike ETH and other cryptos which have more function (ETH has dApps, BTC can have dApps offchain but it won't be able to compete with ETH's devs) 2. Currently the bitcoin dominance % is incredibly high, which is usually a precursor of alt surges, ETH/BTC ratio will reach ATH soon, much better risk/reward compared to BTC. 3. BTC is the oldest currency and has direct competition with LTC, BCH, BSV, etc. Personally I still believe BTC is the only BTC that matters but you are really putting all your eggs in one basket by betting exclusively on it. Hedge your bets people. |

Then he hired an engineer that used to work at Palm in the past to serve as my manager, he asks if I'm very religious, I say "not really," he replies "I'm super religious." Three weeks into him getting hired I start receiving reprimands so I work harder. Continue to receive reprimands, I work even harder, document all my work, maintain great relationships with everyone else including customers. Monday my boss sits me down and says it's not working out and fires me. I am not lying when I say I did in fact work harder than I had in the past, and my boss did enjoy having me around before then (I have a signed letter stating as such), I do not know if my manager legitimately disliked me for my answer to his religion question or thought I was an entitled dickhead that didn't work hard or both. Honestly I completed all of my work, I just didn't do it with a chipper smile 24/7, I can't fake that "we're one big family!" enthusiasm. One thing that rubbed me the wrong way about my manager is that when dealing with a vendor of ours he complained to me that the guy over the phone didn't sound excited/chipper enough to talk to him, I can't fucking deal with that smarmy shit. |

If you were a working mechanical engineer with experience, why are you so worried? Is your area poor for engineering work? In my experience engineering is not a golden ticket, I am still competing with a large pool of talented workers. REMercsChamp posted... TC one of the important things is to think about why you got fired and how you can avoid it next time, as well as how you are going to explain this in interviews. Use some of your free time to think about this. I feel like I already have a pretty good explanation. Regardless people get fired all the time so it's not like I'm a leper you know? |
