Most materialistic age where value is almost entirely subjective.

Even in the past when people paid lots of money for something its because it was made of jewels and gold or worked on for many months or longer.

In modern times you can sell a plain white tee for 200 bucks if it has the correct label.

I hate modern society and their obsession with using subjectivity as an excuse to justify their shitty taste and valuations. Thats the biggest problem I have with living in the now.

I'd already mentioned like 4 times that I'm married so I just said "nah you can just tip me in the app if you want, I should be heading home now anyway" and got the hell out of there.

Stuff like that has happened to me several times in the year I've been driving but that was the most extreme case.

Guarantee if I were single that shit wouldn't happen at all though.

So if you are a single male uber driver, wear a wedding ring?

Other than Final Flight of the Osiris, most of the stories feel more like alternate reality "inspired by The Matrix" sort of stories than anything actually canon to the universe. Like a shitty EU that drags everything else down by existing unless you blatantly ignore it. Or for a more charitable interpretation, you could view them more like art pieces done by people in-universe based on folk legends they've told for years which may or may not be true (and which are likely extremely distorted even if they ARE true).

Plus I find the overall plot of Second Renaissance to be incredibly ham-fisted and cliche, which kind of kills any interest I have in it, or desire to view it as canon. The fact that it exists as official backstory sort of retroactively makes all of the movies less worthwhile for me.

I felt no sympathy for the robots. They are robots.

All it will take is a virus to wipe out decade of digital media. Excess is bad and moderation is good, so if you can moderate your happiness with this plant, it sounds pretty good. If anything is the sole source of happiness though, that's probably never good.

Happiness comes from within. Anything else is placebo and as soon as its gone you arent happy anymore.
