Baby corn is great. Theres a place on 6th Ave right by the courthouse that does poke way to good. They stuff that bowl with seafood protein, sauce and rice.

Illegal logging operations in Brazil have also been known to start fires as a tactic to drive indigenous people off their land and to cover their tracks. The Amazon rainforest has experienced a record number of fires this year, with more than 74,000 reported so far. Its an 84 percent increase over the number of wildfires at the same time last year.

But that's illegal. Aren't we all about being legal? Isn't the big bad thing that people say migrants have done is cross illegally? (even though it's legal for them to cross for asylum)

Just because there's a labor pool to exploit doesn't give the businesses any legal right. Those companies thrive on cheap labor that has no rights. They do that because they get away with it. And those hardworking migrants are the people that suffer when a crackdown happens.

And those companies doing that illegal hiring to save money with little more than a slap on the wrist is what keeps labor prices down. Don't blame you fellow workers for needing money. Blame those greedy ones up top looking for any way they can save a dollar

I've disagreed with some things that were upheld, and voted to overturn more than a few. Sometimes they do get reversed. They mostly don't, but they do pretty often when the dispute is explained well--AND the post is not a violation. No one is gonna overturn clear violations

Move closer to downtown then. I could get anywhere there within an hour usually and I lived in McKenzie Towne. I drove at that point and wasnt reliant on transit but taking the 72 around was really terrible for the first month.

There was an awkward stretch of a couple months where I was working downtown and living in Terwillegar, and the bus/roads are ill-equipped when there's bad weather. I started that job in winter. There was ONE bus line in that entire neighborhood that came every half hour and did a gigantic loop. The stops did not have shelters. That bus alone took 30 minutes to get to the train on a good day.

I moved downtown as soon as I was able. Now I'm close to everything. Work is about 12 minutes by bus with 4 lines that go by my job, all within a block of my place. Or I can (and do) just walk when I want to walk.

Calgary also has better transit :P

I just dont get why you get in trouble for censoring a word. Id understand if they censor bypassed to get a full swear word in. But when someone censor bypasses a word, its still censored. Just not censored the way they like. Seems like dumb rule, anyway...

Because they didn't censor a word. They obstructed a restricted word in a way that doesn't allow the word to be automatically censored. It's a censor bypass.

Again, not a new rule, you've always had to fully censor profanity. Partially censoring profanity has got you modded forevs.

I almost unintentionally did it by typing shit with a bunch of extra i characters. It stopped me from posting. The system itself will warn you for many of the bypasses before you can post. It may not give the same warning for emojis breaking up a word

Let's not complain about that because it was a long fucking time before any swearing was allowed. Shit, I was shocked when they did.

You have never been able to use partially censored profanity as post text. That has been a violation since I joined. If it was allowed before that I can't comment.

This is gamefaqs. You get a lot more than three chances on a message board and yeah you openly admitted that you censor bypassed so I'm not sure what you're upset about. It happens. The only reason you can currently swear on the boards is because of the censor system and when you bypass it, yes, you will be moderated

Many other places you'd just end up banned for breaking the rules as often as people do.

I'd consider them somewhere in between a condiment and a topping. When I think condiments, I think ketchup, mustard, mayo, horseradish sauce, etc.

Maybe pickles aren't a condiment, but relish is a pickle based condiment

I don't mod marked posts on PotD. There's very few on this board relatively speaking

I've been lazy and not modding much in general, trying to figure out the new rules before going through the queue

But with the number of mods out there we each only need to do a few a day each to action a heap of marks.

Honestly I've forgot about my moderation history until a mod would bring something up from ages ago.

Yo a moderation history exists to demonstrate that a person has been made aware of the rules and what breaks them. Those notify without deletes are less harsh, posts used to be deleted and karma was almost always lost if there was a violation. Now it's a warning. Don't do it again.

Some people break the same rule over and over and over

It gets a harsher punishment when a user is well aware of breaking the same rules

I'd like to know how that's unreasonable
