Which side would you root for in a hypothetical battle between a group of people who believed in a certain radical ideology found in central Europe during the early to mid 20th century... or the hordes of the undead seeking to consume and devour them? The battle is pitched but either side could still win ATM. Your cheering won't have an effect on the outcome of the battle. Just in case someone asks, the zombie horde is made of a random assortment of soldiers from both sides of the current ongoing conflict as well as civilians. They are classic shamblers that can't be killed except via headshot but have no real special powers or anything.

When he was done he asked me why it was that his favorite moment was the bit where they clean up the water spirit despite it 'being a stupid movie about girls' and I explained to him that it's the difference between running around all day playing tag and having a tender Christmas Eve with the family by the fireplace. Action, bright lights, cheesy jokes, and the like are fine, but what matters most is making sure that the moment has meaning. He was getting older so I asked him what the difference between dangling keys over a baby and spending time building a massive fort in Minecraft was. He started to say that the former was stupid but then he stopped and I think it clicked for him then. I haven't seen him in a few years now but when I last saw him he'd grown a lot as a person since that day.

Either FFVI or Tales of Symphonia. Ni No Kuni should get at least a nod though as it does capture the Studio Ghibli charm in it's story but it has some issues and shortcomings in plot.

Saying your son likes it is as meaningless as saying the Legend of Korra video game is better than Breath of the Wild because your daughter likes a female main character. It's meaningless, empty, and hiding behind children.

TLJ is a movie so bad I had to watch it in chunks. Several times I just had to pause the movie and take a break to let my mind take a break from the beating of stupid. I've never had to do that for any other movie I've seen to date. It pulled off two things I didn't think possible in having a character I hated MORE than Jar Jar (Rose) AND giving me two new worst lines of all time ('Now it's worth it.' and Rose's little speech at the end). There are essays longer than the movie itself on all its flaws and shortcomings. It. Was. Terrible.

But then I realized that basically everyone would pick the latter so they wouldn't seem like a pedo (despite it being anon) simply because half your age wasn't old enough to really be a debate to most people. Course, since the 'creepy' rule typically goes 'half your age plus 7' it will always be 'creepy' for the first option but never for the second if you abide by that rule.

Edit: To clarify, this only means DATING! Sex does not need to be involved and you can wait till they're older if need-be.

The problem with this question is that 3 times your age makes it so that anyone 30 or above would likely be dating someone who is about to die. We can talk about how gross and disgusting it is to date a 15 year old or something, but once she got old enough you'd have your whole life with her (presumably). By comparison you're dating a person who is so old that they'll probably die before long anyways.

I should really point out that cats, and all animals, are not people. Providing discipline works on kids because you can talk to them and explain why they are being punished. You can't do that with an animal. Especially if you aren't consistent with the punishments. If you aren't it makes you come off as cruel and arbitrary. My suggestion would be to employ time-outs instead of hitting if you catch them doing something you dislike.

You have choices as to what sort of spouse you will be gaining. I've been watching a lot of Matpat's videos for a while now as well as having been a fan of DB since Luke/Harry. I've watched a lot and end enjoy both but I have to admit, when it comes down to it, I vastly prefer the theories to the battles. But why? I mean, Matpat's theories are often wrong and, while he's certainly enthusiastic and enjoying himself so are the cast of DB. In fact I'd say DB get's it right more often than not and certainly more-so than the number of theories mat's been right about for various reasons. So why?

I did some thinking and, eventually, decided it came down to two primary factors.

1) Mat's videos, even when he's wrong, are very educational and detailed. He's not just pulling out a number he's going into detail on how he got that number and explaining the relevance to both the theory and other stuff in general. Highlighting connections I likely never noticed or explaining consiquences I never thought of or the like. Even when he's wrong I come out smarter than I was before or at least more informed.

2) No stakes. In DB the fight is to the death and, let's face it, if you were cheering for one guy and the other won, even if you're aware that the animation at the end is basically just for fun and not a reflection of reality, you're gonna be a bit salty. Even if it does end up being indisputable that doesn't change the bitterness of defeat. But let's say Mat's wrong. There's no consiquences or anything at stake. No loss or the like. You still likely got smarter/more informed and had fun with the theory.

Am I alone in thinking this? Anyone agree?

I don't think you will. How bad China is for America is basically the one thing that both the left and right agree on. The problem is that the free market of America is just that; free. For the most part at least. They can't stop a company from doing business in China; just try their best to make it undesirable. Meanwhile the CCP will gladly ignore fairness and the like which makes doing business next to impossible. I want to add that, no, the revolution did *not* replace the monarchy. They came about after it had already fallen and China was under the control of the Japanese. Mao's revolution was MUCH worse since it resulted in millions of deaths, economic deprivation, and general terribleness all around. Even if you are massively pro-communism there is little to deny that things were worse for China under Mao than under the Emperors. If Mao's communism had remained in place it's likely that China would still be basically a third world nation as chinese peasents tried to make steel in their back yards. It was only following the loosening of the old communist ideals that a bit of prosperity could even begin in their nation. Even now China is still a terrible country to live in in terms of service unless you are in one of the more industrial areas. Go out west into the more rural areas, or even just slightly away from major cities, and the QoL drops MASSIVELY!

I want to add; this is why it's also a terrible idea to try and appeal to the chinese market or get involved in any way, shape, or form. The government will gladly do everything it can to gain power over you and take advantage of you before passing off any gains to domestic companies with heavy ties to the CCP. You'll never break into the market successfully and, even if you do, it's only a matter of time till they toss you out in favor of their own company. They will not respect things like copyright laws and do NOT have a free market in any sense of the word. As such your doom as a non-chinese company is only a matter of time.

Because China isn't out of touch with reality. It's extremely in-touch with reality and it's others that aren't. The fact is that China has a massive customer base but an extremely tight grip upon everything with a party in power that exists solely to ensure the continuation of its own power. It's why things like the disputes over the SCS exist. If China relented they'd lost precisely nothing in regards to things like trade but they would lose the chance to potentially gain large amounts of power. Basically so long as the CCP keeps an extremely tight grip on the reigns of control there is nothing that can be done except submit. The only thing that might threaten said grip of power would be things directly calling it into question. So they ban anything that might show them as less than perfect, shuffle blame off onto individuals so the party remains spotless, and proceed to enforce harsh censorship so the people can't even consider if they are being oppressed. They lose South Park in China? Oh well. They don't care. It's a western show and they can likely force a knock-off version down their own citizens throats or let in some other show eager to suckle at the warm teat of the chinese market that's willing to play by the rules in South Park's place.

It's getting pretty close to an Orwellian state over there. Power is the only thing that matters.

Meh. I was about to go off on some rant about that being racist and acting all offended and everything; but I don't have the heart for it. It's like... why bother when there is already so much toxic hate around already? It's just not worth it and adding to a problem that needs fixing instead of exploiting for cheap comebacks. If a student refuses to listen to me and accept my punishments it's because I've failed them as a teacher and not given them reason to look up to, and respect, me. Both the superior and those whom serve them have a mutual duty to each other and I need to hold up my end of the bargain as the superior teacher. That means being enthusiastic about the subject I teach, teaching it in a proper manner, being respectful, kind, and just to my students, and treating them like they can become something greater instead of being either resigned to hopelessness or a sneering superior who sees them as inconvenient burdens.

I think the real issue is, more likely, a lack of substance beyond the political message. It's not that you can't have one but anyone can write a story about some jacked up person who believes in X going around and beating up villains who believe in Y. It takes work and effort to flesh things out and make them engaging and detailed and the modern writer probably doesn't care so much. As such their work is likely just a cut-out generic story in which the X is good and the Y is evil and you got to punch the Y to win the day for the X.

No, I do not read comics, but I am aware of their struggles and how they're having difficulty with sales while also 'going woke'.

See, here's the thing. There are a lot of shows out there that could be considered 'woke'. I mean, Powerpuff girls had all three of its main leads be female. Static Shock did deal with racial issues and the like frequently. There's plenty of others. But the thing is that those shows had strong plots and characters to support it. You can have a political message. But you have to make sure that things like plot don't get forsaken for it.
