I rarely had the opportunity to record anime on VHS, but I still have several of those tapes. Macross II is the most notable title that survived.

I also have the first eight episodes of Monster Rancher from a DVD that my wife noticed in a bin at Dollar Tree, years ago.

Switch is eventually getting Shin Megami Tensei V, as well as Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore, which is Persona-ish, but ... not quite. I'd wait for reviews on that one, especially if you're not a Fire Emblem fan.

My concern about those is that they are one earthquake away from 1) losing all value, and 2) killing the occupants. Then again, I'm sure they factor that into their plans when they build them.

My new players are showing up for tonight's Basic Fantasy RPG session, and I'm equal parts excited and nervous. It's going to be a little crowded at my dinner table, but I think we'll make it work.

Thankfully, my 360 has no online capability, so I'm sticking to the campaign mode.

Advanced Warfare wants a 4 GB install, but my hard drive is only 7 GB, so that might be a no-go. Fortunately, none of the others are hard to get, and I am leaning towards one of the Modern Warfare games. Will check prices.

The One might not have any games on it that I, personally, wish to play (because I am a JRPG fan), but I cannot call it a failure. The games it does have in its library have large numbers of fans, and the specs of the X model are hard to ignore.

If you still have a SNES, I can almost guarantee you that it still works. That has to be one of the most resilient consoles ever made. Hell, I still play mine from time to time, and I have had it since 1992.

The costumes are ... unpleasant, but I take the "All New" label to mean that the X-Factor Investigations run of the comic is done. Peter David did a great job on that. (Granted, I suspect it has been done for ages, but it was still running when I let my subscriptions expire.) ... Seeing Danger (villain) and Warlock (dead) on the same team is surreal, and not in the good way.

Take a drink every time the Pokmon anime recycles the 'character head zooming up from one corner of the screen' animation. You will be blitzed before Ash meets Pikachu. :-P

This is one of those times at which I ask myself if I have a horse in this race, and I suspect that I do not, but I will at least respond to one of the points, that being that I enjoy the Watchmen movie, and I appreciate it as a good effort to adapt a source that is extremely resistant to adaptation. Then again, I am more forgiving of Snyder than most (... and, as I have stated here in the past, I think that BVS is great -- not a popular opinion, and I understand that).

I also like the Hobbit movies. Another unpopular opinion. Perhaps because I can only watch the Rankin-Bass adaptation so many times. ... I still wish the Great Goblin in the movies had boomed, "Who are these miserable persons?!" I miss that.

Or it might be that I generally do not have good taste. I also thought Superman Returns was great. *shrugs*

Depends a bit on the game, but the Laser can mess up your rate of fire with your other weapons. I usually stick to the old Double-Missile combo if I can.

Your mileage may vary. It doesn't bother me, though I'm pretty spoiled by Persona 5 and the most recent Fire Emblem games when it comes to English dubbing (... and Jessie from FF7R is Futaba from Persona 5).

Heaven's Feel II arrived yesterday, though the missus and I won't be able to watch it until at least Saturday. The limited edition box is pretty sweet: You get the movie, a whole disc full of bonus features, the soundtrack, and a hardcover artbook. Funny thing is that the cost was about the same as it was for the first movie, which was just, y'know, the movie and nothing else. :-P

Might be worth going back through the old tapes to see what you have before you pitch 'em, IMO. A number of those old releases, especially from Central Park Media / U.S. Manga Corps, can no longer be found in any format.
