I always start out with the desire the beat the game. Then as I start playing it I want to complete the game. Then when I get near the end and discover that to get from 98% to 100% you need to collect 348 squabblekwauts or whatever hidden across the map, I put the game away and never play it again.

Same goes for if there's an insanely hard optional boss that requires you to spend longer than you spent playing the entire game to prepare for his fight. Honestly, fuck that.

- human archer (long range offensive)

I fucking hate anime, but I hate it because I high standards for it and 99% of all anime is garbage when put up to my standards.

Anime that I give my seal of approval to:

Death Note
Parasyte
Seven Deadly Sins (Very underrated, everyone should watch this.)
Black Clover (Starts out like a Naruto clone but it ends up getting really good. Trust me.)
Hunter x Hunter
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Code Geass
Boku No Hero Academia (Barely made the list)

Anime that I enjoy on a personal level but I can't justify putting on the above list:
Dragon Ball/Z/Super
Overlord
Inuyasha
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Elfen Lied

That's about it. Everything else sucks dick imo. Anyone got recommendations based off my list?

Not a bad list but I maintain that Seven Deadly sins is one of the worst animes I've ever seen.

I know people are holding on to the narrative that Trump called Nazis fine people because they want to believe it, but some people were doxxed at Charlottesville. Those people probably wish that they stayed home.

Yes I suppose you are right. It is possible that some of the people marching alongside the genocidal maniacs were indeed fine people, and were maybe just confused or caught up with the wrong crowd or in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe they just had some genuine concerns about immigration and decided to attend a unite the right rally with nazis and fascists to voice their concerns. Anything is possible.

In the face of such a nationally significant racial event, it is important that the leader's response is to hesitate about denouncing what we know to have happened and instead take care to first point out all of the unlikely but possible hypothetical scenarios that could explain it all away. Let's also draw attention to how overly upset some other people got about it, to level out the playing field. It's important to gloss over any unpleasantness and make sure everyone is told off equally.

After all, genocidal racists might be pretty bad, but did you see how upset the people on the other side got about it? They were angry and everything. Really, everyone is being so irrational, would you all calm down.

This is the kind of strong, decisive and no-nonsense leadership that we were told Donald Trump would be the very best at, after all.

This feels like a bit of a deflection, but sure. If marxists were calling for the oppression of a people. I suspect that marxist economic philosophy was hijacked by fascists, but thats a more complicated topic.

As for Nazism, if you are exposed as a Nazi, you career is over. What else do you want?

I'm not so sure that's true anymore. We had a group of Nazis expose themselves in Charlottesville, and the president of the united states and leader of the free world took care to point out that some of them may be very fine people.

This. Too bad everyone wants to be Chamberlains (remember when he was derided for being a hesitant coward?) and talk it out with people who are pro genocide. Then there's the loser virgins on the internet who think saying nazi crap is funny and a lot of them end up being legit nazis over time. You have to stamp this shit out and not let it fester.

The difference is the Nazis were invading nations, spewing rhetoric blaming Jews for the failure of WW1, stripping people of rights, throwing people in prison and building an army for war and Chamberlain was like "Nah they'll be good because he told me so."

You going "I'm going to punch this guy who said he agrees with Trump that they should adopt a skills/points system of immigration similar to Australia! WHAT A FUCKING NAZI!" is just dishonesty.

You're using exetreme words to justify exetreme actions when your actions are not justified.

"I want to be violent and attack people who disagree with me" = Not rational.
"We need to defend ourselves against 30 million armed facists literally commiting genocide" = Rational.

So you go "Well what If I do the former but use the wording of the latter! That makes it rational!" it doesn't. Violence is not the solution to someone having a different opinion than you.

Show me on the doll at what point in the timeline do you should start acting towards the guy who wants to kill you. Before or after he kills you? Maybe halfway through the first stabby stab?

And don't pull some minority report nonsense. We're talking about a person that aligns himself with an organisation that literally wants genocide. This is not a person merely wishing to discuss abstract ethical concepts. He is already acting violently. He is stragetically aligning and acting towards the end of or oppression of others.

Why should I or anyone else that actually takes care of their body by eating right and exercising be forced to subsidize those that do not? You cannot subsidize the irresponsible and believe it will suddenly make them responsible.

Because you have empathy for other human beings and understand that everyones living and financial situation is not the same, and we live in a country with millions of people from different backgrounds?

Your physical health is based on your choices. If you choose to eat garbage and never exercise, you reap what you fucking sow lol. It aint my damn responsibility to take care of idiots that dont wanna take responsibility for the garbage they put into their mouths.

In my case, this is completely wrong. I excercised every day, ate right, stayed away from all of the wrong vices. At my peak 3 years ago, I was involved in very intense training to pursue an NFL tryout. Then rheumatoid arthritis hit me like a truck. Now I can't even walk a city block without having to stop to rest. Everyday is horrible pain.

Rheumatoid arthritis runs in my family, so that would be genetics, not choices.

Addendum - I pay for my healthcare, not you, just so you know.

Sounds like you didnt give yourself proper rest. Theres no need to exercise every day, just lifting heavy weights to failure one day a week will do the trick. The rest is just being out in the sun for a reasonable amount of time and eating right. I also highly doubt you ate right, a lot of foods marketed in the United States as healthy is either carb filling (oatmeal, corn flakes, potatoes, beans, rice) or sugar heavy (nearly every fruit and all those blended fruit smoothies). Sugar is sugar, it doesnt matter if it is coming from binge eating fruit or drinking two sodas.

I'm not trying to get off topic here but...is this a real post

Liberals believe in this fallacy that conservatives are against all government entities under the blind refrain of muh small government!, and thats simply not the case.

Small government means that the only purpose of the federal government is to provide services that absolutely cannot be provided by the private markets. National security is one such function, so it is never hypocritical for conservatives to support a strong national defense.

Healthcare, however, is not a system that requires the federal government. In fact, the only government-run, fully socialized healthcare system in the US is the VA Hospital system, and theyre completely dysfunctional and ineffective at providing quality healthcare.

Is your view fundamentally that if it can be done privately it must be done privately because of a matter of principal, or because you feel it is always going to be the better option?

Is this idea of avoiding government programs wherever possible primarily about privacy or efficiency or cost saving?

Everything provided for by the public sector should be privatized, and if it cant exist outside of the public sector it shouldnt exist. The best healthcare is eating right and exercising, but nope, people would like to pretend that the average Americans health problems arent directly related to the American carb and sugar heavy diet and lack of exercise. Why should I or anyone else that actually takes care of their body by eating right and exercising be forced to subsidize those that do not? You cannot subsidize the irresponsible and believe it will suddenly make them responsible.

This would apply to say, smokers or obese people or addicts perhaps. People who make bad decisions and don't deserve your charity, to put it crudely. Do you feel the same way about people who fall ill through no fault of their ownand become a burden on society, where providing them healthcare would make them less of a burden to you?

Example (and this is getting clumsy, but it is valid enough): someone is hit by a drunk driver, the injuries impede their ability to work. Worse, they are uninsured, and unable to cover the enormous costs of healthcare and therapy. We could provide them with effective healthcare that gets them back into the workforce faster, or we could leave them to their own devices. At this point they are a burden on the system for life.

There's really only two options at that point. We cut them loose altogether, and leave them without the ability to work or provide for themselves in any way until they either drop dead or turn to crime, or we put them on welfare for life.

I think the best of universal healthcare is to allow people like this to get back to contributing to society faster, so that they are overall less of a burden than if we just let them be.

What do you think should happen in that example?

I can think of another. A friend of mine drew all the short straws in life. Not only was she born poor, but she was born with crohns disease and leukemia. Healthcare has allowed her to work, whereas no healthcare has meant she would have dropped dead by now.

Next question then. Where does "we need this to be a public program" and "this isn't the government's business" start and end for you? Surely there's a fundamental ideal somewhere that distinguishes those.

For example, I can't imagine privatised police force, privatised road maintenance, privatised fire officers etc. being a valid thing in a country. Not in a country I want to live in. I just see healthcare as another one of those things. They go into the "we need this for society as a whole to work but nobody wants to volunteer to pay for it, so lets all chip in" basket.

Honestly not a troll topic, I'm just trying to piece together something I don't quite understand about a typical conservative viewpoint.

You don't want things like universal healthcare because ultimately, you believe it's up to the individual to provide for their own well-being, and it shouldn't be a responsibility of society or the government to do it for you. This is my money, my tax dollars, it shouldn't go to helping some alcoholic or junkie or even someone who unfortunately got cancer. Sorry, but just not my responsibility. I can understand that sentiment, even if I don't agree with it.

How does this follow towards military budgets, however? Is it not your individual responsibility to provide for your own security? Why should your tax dollars go to invading middle eastern countries, or providing tertiary education to enlistees, or developing new ways to kill people? I understand why these things exist, but why is it that you don't mind this being taken from your paycheck, unlike a system that could provide you with healthcare?

I assume there must be some other reason why this follows in one but not the other. Is it that you see the military as a necessary feature of a society, but the health of your citizens not a necessary feature? Or is it that you see a government military as an efficient cost saving exercise whereas a government health system is too expensive and better privatised?

How would you feel towards a privatised military?

Is that what happened though

I suspect it went down a bit more like this

Lib: Omg climate change is killing everything we need to do something!
Con: Here's a way in which you can help.
Lib: Thank you for the resource, now to look into this and see if it's a worthwhile thing to donate to

Prince Charles reportedly spent 75 extra minutes trying to convince Trump of the perils of climate change and the dude just doubled down and said it wasn't his problem.
I know it's not about Republican users but it really does seem to fit the theme of the topic.

You know we're in dire straits if the voice of reason at the old boy's club is prince charles, tbh

You watch the weather channel lately? Rivers are breaking levees, hurricanes and tornadoes are stronger than ever, we routinely break monthly average temperatures, we are entering the too far gone stage. Climate change is murdering poor people in real time and we're still not waking up to it

Meanwhile you have dumbasses on this very board saying "I saw a snowball once, so climate change is bullshit"

https://www.climaterealityproject.org/

Here's a link to your messiahs Al Gore's climate "change" charity. Now put your money where your mouth is.

What a weird and irrelevant characterisation of the point. This is basically like saying "well if you love him so much why don't you marry him?"

Are you 12?

Going well so far:

Lib: We should fix this problem.
Con: It doesn't exist.
Lib: Here's evidence it exists. We should fix it.
Con: It's not a big deal.
Lib: Here's examples of it being a big deal. We should fix it.
Con: It'll cost too much.
Lib: Here's a way to make it affordable. We should fix it.
Con: It's too late to fix it. You should have told us about it earlier.

The next bit

Lib: Ok, let's do whatever we can now to stop it getting worse.
Con: It doesn't exist though...

I mean the people who are claiming to be old school gamers when they started on the PS2 are just saying shit like that to feel special. It's like when a teenager acts like they know it all.

Sure why not, let's take that a bit further

Anthropologists: gender is not sex and should not be confused
Cons: There are 2 genders because there are 2 sexes
Biologists: strictly speaking there aren't even just 2 sexes tho
Cons: 2 GENDERS

I guess we're at that age now where we're in denial about being old and so we start gatekeeping what counts as oldschool

Or my favourite:

Conservatives: You should be worrying about this problem instead of that one!
Liberals: We worry about both.

I try to look on the bright side of being 5'7": it's an easy way to thin the pool. I'm fairly sure I don't need to waste my time on someone who can't enjoy spending time with me unless my body is a certain length.

This is the caveat. Is someone really worth your time if that's their yardstick? Definitely not.
