The gameplay is good its just simple. Everything is technically sound and works. Melee combat is as simple as mashing square but its brutal and satisfying. It's also satisfying to get past a room without firing a sigle shot if you're so inclined and very tense on harder difficulties knowing one sound could fuck you up. I agree with everything Jiggy just said and I wish I could be cynical and shit on this game but Cuckmann knows how to make a good, entertaining game with good writing to elevate it above just another zombie game.

Some of your complaints don't make sense though, like the game being too easy and ammo too plentiful.

"There are survivor and grounded difficulties..."

"But that's TOO hard. If I want a challenge I shouldn't have to play on the hardest difficulties."

Uh, what?

And most games have cutscenes upon reaching end of sections. Why is that bad here? The cutscenes are actually good and get you invested in the characters and world.

But like nu-GoW the game was tailor made for mass appeal and awardbait with a heavy story about fatherhood that critics eat up because it validates their profession of writing about games like they're art. Bonus points now that Ellie is full lesbian now. TLoU 2 will win a lot of awards based on its story, message and presentation alone.

It's not you saying you're going to wait to buy it, it's you saying you aren't getting it now because of EA's previous mistakes, despite them addressing those mistakes with this.

Getting thrown a bone hardly makes up for all of EA's "mistakes" imo. I'm not that easily manipulated. But buy the game and enjoy it. I'm not saying you shouldn't, but you're barking up the wrong tree. If EA never publishes another good star wars game ever again I wouldn't give a shit.
