These people have some truly insane beliefs. A few of my favorites: - Antarctica doesn't exist. The plane tickets to go there are a lie. Penguins are really guards guarding the government secret - Pi is 4, not 3.14 infinity. - They measure the sun by eye balling it. So essentially it's a few feet wide. I can't remember the exact size - all sailors and pilots are apparently in on the conspiracy and have never really sailed or flown around the world. - NASA...all of it, every last space picture, is a lie - Other planets are apparently round, but not earth. - As a Christian, I have yet to find the bible verse that says the earth is flat, yet they keep saying the bible says the earth is flat. - there is no way to measure the circumference of a planet. As such, this is why the number "Pi" is a lie. We can't measure because again, they eyeball everything. - Gravity does not exist. Things just inexplicably drop. - plane routes to get to destinations are part of the conspiracy to cover up the lie - due to the lies and misdirection, it remains unclear what the actual shape of the earth is. We may or may not be living in a dome or on a turtle. - the earth is flat because you can't feel the roundness of it when walking. Same thing with gravity, you can't feel it, therefore it doesn't exist. Flat surfaces = flat earth. |

It might have been rushed, but Dany turning into the mad queen has been foreshadowed for a long time now. Heck even in Season 1 she showed signs of being a psychopath. When she bought the unsullied she proved to be a bit of an underhanded dick as well. She had been flirting with wanting to burn the capitol for a while, and seemed quite reluctant to agree to stop the siege if the bells rang so when the bells actually rang and she didn't stop the siege, it makes sense. And even in that episode, when Jon refuses to fuck her, she says "Let it be fear then". I don't know why anyone acts like it was some shock that the bells set her off. If you followed the plot of the same episode it happened in, it wasn't a shock or a surprise. The only way anyone can say Dany turning into the mad queen was not set up, was not foreshadowed, or came out of the clear blue is if you are incapable of following plot for more than 5 minutes at a time. At which point I recommend watching the WWE because they don't follow plot for more than 5 minutes either. |

It is said right in the moment he killed his previous love to do the right thing, but this time when forced to make the choice, he makes the wrong choice realizing how utterly hopeless it is to be THAT ideologically driven. He is in this scenario persuaded by Dany's speech realizing this is the best way to help the people. Realizing he really is the right man for the job. Tyrion is unconvincing in his speech in this scenario. While Sansa and Arya may be displeased, he can easily negotiate for the independence of the North and gives Sansa the throne she's been positioning for. The rest of the episode is then spent setting up for the viewer to know more and less the power structure and potential enemies or alliances of the future. Seeing as this is a living and breathing world that wouldn't naturally just end. Tyrion gets exiled as a sign of mercy, and to leave the viewer wondering whether Jon can actually reign in the mad king/queen syndrome. Also because it allows a member of each major bloodline to have one surviving kin. The iron fleet obviously continues it's alliance with Jon/Dany Sam is forced to decide whether he would like to serve in the North or Jon and Dany. Queen of the north chants proceed. Arya and Sansa can be seen conspiring against the Queen in secret and that becomes Aryas new mission, assassinate the Queen if she gets out of hand. Seeing as the North is independent, this can be see a viable future offscreen threat for the viewer to wonder about and debate about on the internet. We see Dany and Jon get married. The remain kingdoms are given a choice whether to bend the knee or resist. We are not shown their choices. They are given an ultimatum. All this in my view lets the viewer know the world is going to go on and gives us an idea of the direction the world might go off camera. There is in my opinion no way of ending this show on a satisfactory manner in that regard. Take breaking bad for example, it is the show about Walter White, his death is the end of the story. This show has no such character where the story ends. |

Season 8 of GoT was bad yes, but not because this isn't where the show was going to go, but because it was rushed and D and D turned down a blank check to make it be great on the way there. Season 8 of Dexter and season 7 as well, were trash because the show took entirely too long to get to season 6's finale, the big reveal that Dexter is the serial killer and now his sister knows it. It's like sitcom problems, they barely have a plot so they take forever to get to whatever major plot point they have, like Penny and Leonard getting married in Big Bang Theory. That could have and should have happened by season 3 instead of the end of season 6 or 7, whenever it was. |

I think the primary thing that is fueling all the rage here is not so much that the show is ending or even it got rushed so much as the fact that it has been revealed that D and D were given by HBO essentially a blank check, several more seasons if needed, and D and D said nope we don't want that, we don't even want a 10 episode season 8. All so they can write star wars(which if you've been on the internet, the internet hates it now---with the last jedi being universally shit on and to write some new show called confederate that may or may not come into existence). Also some blame is being passed on George Martin for not finishing the books which is how we got Season 6-8 in the first place. So yes, fans will probably always regard what happened with GoT as a travesty, provided they know what I said above. If you don't know what I just said then it's not near as bad of a bitter pill to swallow because overall the show is pretty damn great, and season 8 didn't take us anywhere we weren't expecting, it just rushed the hell out of it, which if it was the usual case of executives canning a show prematurely then it is understandable but since the writers rejected a blank check, it morphs into grade A bullshit. And I am one of the ones that actually liked season 8 overall. But I admit if Season 1 was like season 8 I probably would not have enjoyed the show near as much. I overall enjoyed the ride to the destination is what I am saying and thought the finale had quite a few standout moments. |
