Can I get a tl;dw on why Netflix Death Note fails as an adaptation? I rewatched the anime recently so I'm curious on how its story beats and themes differ.

Do you want a Death Note where:
-light is a legit dumbass. A horny dumbass.
-light's only motivation for being Kira is to get in Mia's pants
-the cat-and-mouse game between L and Light straight up doesnt exist
-L decides the best way to deal with Kira is to pick up a (laser?) gun and chase light on foot through the streets. With no proof.
-ryuk spends the whole movie trying to get light to give up the book and pass it to someone else
-did I mention light is about as smart as a lobotomized goldfish? The dude literally brings the death note to school and tells the first girl who asks exactly what it is and how it works

Square is remaking FF7 because it's their ace in the hole. Their reputation has become a joke imo and they're trying to recapture their image.

Yep. Gotta make themselves look like the good guys, while carving the game to bits to sell 3 or more times

Let's be real, Evangelion always was a poorly written piece of trash

Okay, everyone is just shitting on Eva, but no one is refuting how horrible Netflix Death Note is lol

I mean, you wont see people arguing about dragonball evolution's shittiness, either.

Theres no discussion to be had about some things

I mean... evangelion always sucked. Ham-handed philosophy, faux-existential whining, devolving into gibbering nonsense the further on you got. It's the epitome of focusing so much on artistry that it forgets how to be cohesive.

And its well-documented budget issues really, REALLY start to show more and more with each passing episode

Is it worth it to pay the fox so you can finish the entire dungeon in one go?

Can be. As anothe user said, time is your most valuable resource in the game. And, truth be told, money isnt exactly hard to come by; by end game, iirc, I was rolling in more cash than I had any idea how to spend.

When in doubt... farming gold hands in early dungeons has good payouts.

Also... especially in golden, you can VERY easily abuse the shuffle times in early, easy dungeons for healing/yen( read: fox money)

We somehow cope in Britain without it. A little thing calling teaching children to cross safely as they grow up.

I mean... by that logic, arent all laws effectively pointless? Just teach kids not to break the law

Not saying you're necessarily wrong, and I believe you when I say Britain gets on fine without it. But that's not the strongest argument, there

Jaywalking is one of the strangest laws I will never get why exists in other countries.

I mean... giving pedestrians free reign to bolt out into traffic because "they can make it" (they can't) does create dangerous conditions. Even if the pedestrian doesnt get hit, the danger to a driver (or drivers around them) if they have to slam the brakes or swerve for some twerp bolting to chipotle is pretty bad. If that pedestrian were to, say, trip while they were "making it," hello possible pileup. Especially in busy cities where I swear pedestrians have the survival skills of lemmings when it comes to the road.

I mean, no, cops shouldnt be dicks about it, but it's a law with pretty legit reasons for existing

How can you raise courage? Apparently I cant be a suave mother fucker without it.

going back to previous dungeons and beating the bonus bosses raises bravery iirc

might be hard at your current level tho

For the first dungeon, would level 23 be good enough to come back and beat the optional boss.

Should be, if you can make sure you have a very defensive persona, or something with defensive bufs. That boss has a whole-party, multi-hit AOE
Attack called Rampage that wipes unwary teams. So, just make sure youre physically tanky enough to eat a few solid hits in a row, and have a healer (read: yukiko) keep the party's health maxed as much as possible.

Been a long time since I've played P4g, but if you have access to anything to let you reflect phys (may be rough that early), you'll wreck its shit. Debuff his attack if you can.

As a general rule, I've usually found that by the time you complete a dungeon, you're usually well equipped enough to beat the previous dungeon's extra boss without much issue. The first one is the only one where that can be rougher, but, I refer you to what I wrote above

Overrated is a useless term.

Basically translates to "you (or some nebulous "people") like this thing too much

Quite arrogant to assert. It's ok if you dont like it; no need to spin some kind of problem around the people who do.

I'm male and I believe women should be given equal rights and opportunities, thus I am a Male feminist.

Just because some feminists act silly, it shouldn't change or take away from what feminism actually is.

And in a perfect world where logic rules and unicorns pranced across the plains, this would be the case.

Unfortunately it's not, and the poor perception the more vocal and silly feminists project does have a negative impact. Perception matters, whether you want it to or not. And feminism's unwillingness to fix it's perception problem is making progress far harder than it needs to be.

The next step is a culture change.

This bit I agree with.

I do, however, believe that the common Feminist rhetoric is woefully unequipped to enact such change. The current mantra of "scream until it breaks" is practically guaranteed to cause so much pushback as to make it functionally useless.

I can't identify with feminism because I just dont think the movement in it's current form is equipped or prepared to do what they need to do to actually enact cultural change. Eg. Get people to like you.

Both were potentially very interesting characters with strong starts, who both devolve into generic, mustache-twirling bad guys as their stories draw closer to a close.

Very difficult to judge whether they're overrated, because in both cases, both sides of the discussion are right depending on which half of their movie (or which movie in thanos' case) you look at
