| DarkBuster22904 08/10/19 2:57:43 PM #11 | 2 1 3 Genesys Salvation 1 is a great action movie. 2 is a great movie period. 3 loses a lot of the magic, really just follows the "same as before, but bigger and badder" tropes. That said, I did like the inevitability angle they played up with the time travel, establishing a closed loop of sorts. Genesys drops because I really hate fucking retcon stories, which is basically all it was. Had great setpieces, but dammit if story and character wise it didn't just shit all over everything in favor of reinventing the wheel. Salvation is so fucking pointless I'm baffled it existed at all. When it was first announced, I remember seeing the trailer and thinking "finally, are we really going to see what Reese was talking about? That final climactic moment where John Connor leads humanity to drive back skynet for good?" Instead we get a movie that had nothing to do with anything, offers no meaningful development for the franchise, inexplicably makes John so incapable of seeing the humanity in a terminator that he gives Sarah's speech from 2 about the need to kill them on sight (seriously, did 2/3 just never happen?), and, worst of all, NOTHING IMPORTANT HAPPENS. Seriously, I still have no idea where the "salvation" in the title came from or what it was referring to --- Haven't had a good sig idea since 2006 |

At worst, the opposite happens, and Marvel takes backlash for "demonizing" female empowerment, or some shit. At best, they are like Hela. A strong, evil woman. And nobody remembers or cares.
