I don't really have much stake in the franchise though and will probably not ever watch the movie myself.

It is weird though that I care enough about the series to go out of my way to become familiar with the plot but not enough to actually watch the movies.

The music is my favorite part of the Nord Highlands. Unfortunately I think the actual area ends up a bit too empty for what the developers were going for, but whatever.

Yeah the books are noticeably better I think, though the movies are also good.

Have they said they're adapting the entire manga? Or do you just mean that it's getting a 2nd anime adaptation with better visuals, etc?

Well I thought the anime song list(s) went really well actually.

I've had an anisong list ready for a while but was never sure whether or not to actually run it.

I think I'm going to run it, but I also don't want to do it soon because I don't want to oversaturate vgmgg's with anime lists. Not sure if other people have thoughts here but it seems like to me I'll wait at least a couple weeks before running mine.

I will say after episode 11 Emma is definitely now my favorite character in the show, if she wasn't already. (Which to be fair, she probably was)

I'm scared Mom is keeping Norman alive as a bargaining chip though. (There's of course a 100% chance he's still alive since they didn't show his death. The question is why.)

Neverland has already shown more understanding of strategy than Code Geass. I'd say it's been pretty good on that front so far. Anyway I really like it, though mostly for the atmosphere and characters.

Anyway yeah I liked Psycho Pass. The entire finale was fantastic imo.

I did like Makishima overall, but mostly from a more aesthetic standpoint. I like having his type of villain a lot in these types of stories, but I also think Makishima himself could have been written a bit better.

I always liked Durarara more than Baccano.

The Baccano anime tried a really ambitious storytelling style, but I thought the stories didn't have the level of intrigue required to back that up and ultimately ended up slightly worse as a result. Though, I admit part of it is probably just that I like the setting and characters of Durarara more than Baccano even if the events of Baccano had played out in a more conventional manner. I just felt Durarara did a really good job setting up all of it's different characters and the relationships between them.

I mostly liked the S2 stuff as much as S1, though I did feel season 2 really slowed down and dipped in quality a bit during the middle. The first and third cours were both great though.

I never liked Anri at all. Best characters are Mikado/Celty/Izaya imo.

Death Parade is kind of a weird series for me.

I found the overall plot to be extremely boring, but I think generally the episodes as standalones vary between "pretty good" and "top tier anime". It's also sort of weird because the series is apparently about death games, but I actually think the best episodes are the ones that don't have the sort of dark psychological drama you would expect from that label. (The bowling, Old Maid, and ice skating episodes are all absolutely fantastic)

I also didn't like Nozaki-kun as much as the rest of the anime community does, though it was pretty solid imo. Reminded of School Rumble a bit, except I think I probably liked that show better. (School Rumble is one of my favorite comedies though so that's not surprising.)

Daru was really great in Steins;Gate 0 tbh. I am also a huge fan of Maho.

I agree about it not being as good as the original, but personally I still consider S;G 0 a top tier anime in it's own right

I liked Azumanga Daioh. It's not like the funniest anime ever in terms of pure comedy, but I do think it nails feel-good nostalgic school life in a way that most other similar shows don't. I don't know why this one in particular struck a chord with me, but I remember thinking episode 19 was a top tier anime episode for reasons related to that.

Yeah this is pretty much my thoughts on Your Name. I can sort of see why it's so popular because it is sort of...easily digestible, if that makes sense? Also I do think the characterization in the movie is fantastic, which is a good way to get people invested.

I've said this before (like, every time I've talked about the movie), but I do agree that the beginning of the movie is much better than the end. The drama was somewhat good I guess, but I really enjoyed the body-swapping stuff at the beginning.

I also like Garden of Words better, which is definitely my favorite Shinkai movie. Didn't care much for Voices of a Distant Star actually though. And then, I guess to round out all the Shinkai movies I've seen, I also watched 5 Centimeters per Second but pretty much hated it.

I remember liking the first couple of episodes of School Live but then thinking it got a lot worse as it went on for some reason I don't entirely remember. (I've forgotten most things about the show)

I liked the side routes in Little Busters :(

In particular I really enjoyed Haruka's route almost as much as Refrain even.

Definitely agree on the anime being worse than the VN though on nearly all fronts. In general the side routes suffered more than the main story I think, but yeah.

Though, there is one important scene (the baseball game during the rain in Rin 2) that I actually liked more in the anime than in the VN, so that was pretty cool.
