Well given that the most prominent climate proposal right now, the green New Deal, is a giant flaming pile of shit, I imagine any reasonable proposal made from a perspective that doesn't involve throwing Society into the garbage to make it work would be considered "middle ground."

Meanwhile the world gets thrown into the garbage because "middle ground" policies aren't effective enough.

The world is being thrown into the garbage because of China and India. Most of the pollution in the world comes from them and the US really can't do much about it.

I believe one of the single largest polluters in the world is the US military so fuck off with that nonsense.

I prefer to watch the first one but I think that objectively Part 2 is a better film. The bouncing back and forth in the timelines really does a good job of showing the differences between Michael and Vito and why Michael could never really achieve his goal of being as beloved as his father while still accomplishing the same thing. Not to mention the "IT WAS AN ABORTION MICHAEL" scene is some of the best acting i've ever witnessed. I legit thought Al Pacino wanted to kill her, that look on his face conveyed so much rage and hatred.

There shouldnt be, but the fact of the matter there is. And insulting and mocking the other side is just going to push them farther back. If you want to win people over and convince them vaccines are good, you cant insult them. Show some compassion. Youre a physician.

They have all the information at their fingertips. They have historic records. If somebody plugs their ears and goes LALALALALA to proven science, they deserve all the ridicule they get.

And I feel thats exactly why well never win them over. Some people cant be won over instantly. Some need time. And if were kind, compassionate, and patient, I feel well be more likely to convince them. When has mocking someone ever convinced then of your side on things?

Then let them live in a giant anti-vaxxer community in an a state with plenty of space for it and where they aren't a threat to anyone but their own. Then when they've all died of easily preventable diseases we can at least hold their idiotic sacrifice up for future generations to see the perils of being that fucking stupid and dangerous.

This isn't worthy of an article...reporting crimes is never a bad thing ffs

It is if you can't trust the cops to show up and handle the situation appropriately rather than murder an unarmed man over a misdemeanor.

Im all for vaccines and pro vaccination, but your attitude towards the situation TC is counterproductive. Youll push people away from your side.

Why should we be polite to people who put other people's lives at risk with their ignorance and irresponsibility?

Some joke user is going to come in and go "See, this is why people who call the police on black people (for the flimsiest of reasons)shouldn't get in trouble!"

...Yeah if someone is commiting a crime, report it. Nothing wrong with that. The problem only occurs when someone gets the police called in for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

But bro what if I was totally threatened by that black family barbecuing in the park. How do I know they aren't just casing the place for easy marks?

It's one of those things like a religion, so much of their self and who they are is wrapped up in it that to question is almost like questioning their own existence. It isn't going to happen.

It was cool when it came out but I don't think it aged well. The music downright sucks.

What a completely awful opinion. Giorgio Moroder is amazing. How many other musicians do you know with a supercar named after them?

You wanna job Ernie?

Great scene. Then Ernie takes a long swig of Jack Daniels.

Oh man, one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Very much reminded me of the phrase "the king is dead! Long live the king!"

That guy's sweaty face and twitch acting really sell the scene also "Uhh...ye...yeah Tony....sure"
*Huge swig*

Have fun with pages long vivid descriptions of food and clothing while getting short paragraphs describing battles.

That isnt the case at all. 1/2 of a page is the longest deception of food AND clothes

Dude, Joffrey's wedding is way over the top with that sort of nonsense. Is it interspersed with small bits of conversation between minor characters? Sure? Does it also have in depth details on what type of alcoholic beverage was in Tyrion's cup? You bet. It has songs and every trivial detail about the guy/girl who sings it.

It's not even that i'm opposed to that level of detail. It takes a good writer to cram that much level of detail into something and still tell a compelling story. The problem is that it permeates every scene of social gathering within the books and really fucks with pacing and flow. Especially when it's 9/10 times only the social gatherings that get that level of detail. Battles get glossed over in a paragraph or two because he rarely places the viewpoint character in them, and when he does he does things like knock out the viewpoint character part of the way so you can find out afterwards what happened when someone explains it to them. It's simply that he likes writing the fashion and food more than he does anything else. He's even said as much at a reading I went to back when Feast for Crows first came out. (Before the show was dreamed of and most people hadn't heard of the books, he still had time to do appearances at local small conventions and the like).

Tolstoy does the same thing, especially in War and Peace, though in that particular case it's his editorializing on the nature of history that drags it down.

All that being said, The Battle of The Black Water was one of the best written battles from multiple viewpoint characters I've read in fiction, so when he does want to the man can write a good long battle narrative.

I get it, it's probably just a personal preference thing, but I don't think it would hurt anything to tone it down a tiny bit.
