I could probably be friends with her, even after this. But I don't understand how she could just hang out with someone like that and be friends. Not after he used deceptive tactics to get into the Iraq War, vehemently opposed gay marriage rights, and openly authorized the use of torture (something he still hasn't gone back on from what I know). If I were at a party, would I extend basic politeness? Probably. I mean he's not even in a position of power anymore. What would be gained by antagonizing him? But I could never be friends with him, and if someone saw me I would make it very clear I was just extending basic cordiality and politeness, and I was NOT friends with the man. He's supposed to be a post 'Death in the Family' Joker, where he's kidnapped and murdered Jason Todd/Robin. As a result, Batman literally smashed his face in and came very close to killing him. His lack of smile, grills and hand tattoo, are a result of him physically being unable to do so. The Damaged tattoo on his head is supposed to be a visual reminder to Batman about how close he came to killing him. As much of a message about Batman's psyche as it is about Joker's. I still dont think the design was great, especially as an introduction to the character. It would have been a cool change if we actually got a whole film about it and saw the transition from a more classic design to the design we got. But it is a lot better when you consider the stuff cut. Nobody cares about any of that. They could have integrated all that in a way that didn't make him look like a pile of silver and bright green vomit. He looks terrible and acts obnoxious. And he's not even funny or anything.
