Nah I think the PS2 was decidedly blue and established their identity and then for some reason with the PS3 they thought they could just make a move on red.

I never connect Nintendo with red, but yeah I guess the logo is red a lot of the time. Still though, sega was black because it was edgy and Nintendo was gray because it was quirky. Then purple because it was quirky. Then the Wii was like all white.. because of quirky.
