The other person died instantly when you cut the head off so what's the point of throwing a sai at it afterward? His animations are so fluid he really has that shitty hollywood fighting movie style down perfectly now. I dropped MK10 after about 2 months so I'm trying to avoid getting hyped but they're really doing a good job of selling this game. --- skull |

Raiden's lightning looked pretty oppressive in the exhibition against Sonya so idk. I think I prefer everyone being more specialized instead of the "give everyone a fireball" mentality that NRS usually follows. --- skull |

skullbone 01/23/19 11:07:25 AM #101 | Yes and the Fatal Blows only work once per GAME once they hit. So if you use it during the 1st round you can't use it again for the entire match. I think that adds some nice strategy so you have to decide whether you want to use that massive resource or not. You could spend it in the first round and still lose and now you're down a tool. I also like the bars being different and recharging automatically but I'm a little worried it'll encourage Injustice 2 style zoning which wasn't fun. I was never a big fan of crazy long combos and MK has never really been an offender but I didn't have the patience to learn them in MKX. Everything I've seen about this game makes me think I might pick it up day one. edit: There's also some mechanic called brutal blows or something where certain moves zoom in and do X-ray style animations if you satisfy a certain condition. Like maybe if you land a certain move on someone out the air or if you hit them 3 times in a row with a projectile. I believe those can only happen once a match too but it's another little thing to play around your opponent with. They also added perfect blocking which is basically parrying. You take reduced chip damage and you're able to recover out of blocking faster if you perfect block so you can punish things that couldn't normally be punished.
