I did a playthrough where I didn't let Kara become a Deviant and I killed Markus as early as possible and I was really frustrated how little the story changed

Letting the latter character die locks you into the violent Android ending whether you had played pacifist up until the point you die or not and the former characters' death actually improves the game by shaving off a few inconsequential hours IMO

The game would have probably been better if it were just two characters more closely intertwined (Markus and Connor) or just one character with a way more nuanced, fleshed out story. He could have still had 3 but I don't think David Cage should be trusted with that many storylines anymore

Honestly the entire idea that an android can just pop off their LED and become indistinguishable from a human is pretty poor writing.

I give a lot of media a high tolerance for BS and I often suspend my disbelief in favor of just enjoying myself but if a movie or game makes me stop and think "wait how the fuck does that work" then that's points against it

I also end up being extra critical of David Cage because he's so full of himself

That said Detroit is still the best of his games although I think I personally enjoy Heavy Rain more

I'm impressed with both matches today, we finally got votals back up to the 30s (and on a Sunday!) and we have a kinda big upset (not a seeding one) in MGS > Seinfeld.

I expected Seinfeld to do better but this is a board that once massively pulled for Snake > Link so I guess we know where our loyalties lie. I can imagine an entire Board of nerds who quote "kept you waiting, huh?" on a daily basis cuz that's what I do.

Meanwhile, Futurama kept up with Holy Grail for a while, but 'tis only a flesh wound! There was only a 1 point different in the victory margins of Holy Grail > Futurama and Holy Grail > Sonic which is super confusing to me as Futurama isn't exactly weak. Holy Grail might just have a set of ~20 fans that refuse to vote for anything else. I don't blame them, I re-watched it on Netflix last night and that shit is still one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. We might have a contest champ on our hands!

Ah, Board 8. The only place where the Phoenix Wright series could get 6 votes against the Simpsons.
