Pathetic.

What I usually do, I play through a FPS on Normal Mode, then I kick things up to either Hard Mode, or Very hard Mode, and play through like that. Great fun. Did it with various Halos, CODs, FEAR 1, etc. I've been playing Wolfenstein: Youngblood since last month, and Normal Mode is a nightmare. Wtf. So it put things down 2 notches, to Easy Mode. This has never happened to me before.In my defense, I used to buy console FPSs ALL the time, whereas I only occasionally get a new FPS now. Although, really, it's actually the fact the game is SO hard.

Thoughts on all this? What's your usual "path" through FPSs? I think starting with Normal Mode, then spending *months* playing through on the highest difficulty is great fun. Think MW1, or World at War.

To be fair, nobody has really cared much about GeOW since about the third game.

Stuff like COD and Halo and Battlefield and AC took over.

He was pretty bad. I remember one time, we were discussing The Savage Detectives, and he kept demanding for me to explain the "structural conceits" of the book. He just kept going on and on. Who talks that pretensely?

I rarely say this about FPSs, but they are. They're confusing, the cutscenes are much too long, the default difficulty is far too high, there are way too many indoor and high-tech environments, and the graphics are a little glitchy.

How can making a FPS go so wrong? How?

I recently bought a DVD of a film. I live in the UK, so I made sure it was region 2. According to the box, it's also Pal (as opposed to NTSC). When I put it in my DVD player, which is a completely normal region 2 player, it wouldn't work, i.e. "disc is not valid".

Wtf is going on, CE?

Seriously. 10 films, from the well-known to the obscure, and it took 8 days. I understand sometimes an obscure / rare film can take ages to arrive, but...come on! Do you know what the really strange thing is? The final film to arrive, which I think I got from an independent seller on Amazon, was Taxi Driver. TAXI DRIVER. And yet, somehow, Black Moon, the most obscure film I got, and it really IS obscure, came before that. Wtf is happening in this world?

It started about 11.30 last night.

There was this really loud bang downstairs, like someone slamming a door. A moment later, I heard a series of long bumps and thuds upstairs, i.e. just outside my bedroom door. Wtf. I was actually pretty scared. I knew if I called the police, the burgular(s) would have plenty of time to beat me up before they (the police) arrived. Things went quiet, then I went out to investigate. I looked around several rooms with the lights on, couldn't see anyone (or anything stolen). Went back to bed. Heard a few more thuds, but that was it. I assume it was mechanical sounds, possibly from the pipes or whatever. Ocassionally it happens in my house.

I got up this morning, everything was where it should be. This feels like very stupid creepy pasta. The noises were REALLY loud, though, and the way they got closer to me was wtf.

I can't remember half the stuff that was meant to be in it, which turned out to be completely inaccurate anyway, but I remember people foaming at the mouth on the TV board about it. Anyone else remember this? What were people "predicting"?

Bare in mind I know little about comic books.

I know that Gotham is based on night time NYC, which implies it's a coastal city, plus it looks a LOT like NYC in The Dark Knight Rises, but in the trailer for Joker, it appears to be pretty far inland. Which is it? Or does it vary, like stuff in comic books does? You know, origin stories, etc.
