Cheating on Heidi, if that did occur, was never a problem for me. That's their fucking business. It only affects them and people around them, but has no legal backlash associated to it.

I never got this line of logic. Why shouldn't I judge people for cheating on their significant others? It's a shitty thing to do. Just because it's legal doesn't mean I shouldn't care.

*As stated before, Genealogy had by far the most ardent support for Best Story. 42% of people who played it voted for it in that category. When's the Echoes version coming out, IS?

*Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn had the most ardent supporters when it came to rating games. 28% of the people that rated them gave them a 10/10. Genealogy and Thracia 776 had 18% of the people rating them give them a 10/10. No other games had supporters that dedicated.

*Revelations had by far the loudest detractors. 8% of people that rated it gave it a 1/10. Pretty much every other game had 1-2% of people giving them a 1/10.

*The average number of FE games that people have played is 7.44. People that started with Blazing Blade and Sacred Stones have played around 8. People that started with Awakening have played 7, which is honestly more than I expected considering Awakening didn't come out that long ago.

*People that started with Awakening rated the 3DS-era games more favorably, but not by much. They also rated pre-3DS games lower than the average, but only by a little.

*People that started with Blazing Blade were overall harsh. They rated nearly everything below the average, with the exception of Conquest, which they actually rated above.

*People that started with Sacred Stones were more mixed. They rated pretty much everything close to the average. Except for Radiant Dawn, which they rated extremely high for some reason.

*In general, people that started with a game rated that game above the average. First impressions stick with you! Even then, Blazing Blade stood out. They rated it very far above the average. When combined with their harsh ratings on almost all the other games, it would seem that Blazing Blade starts have a clear idea of what they want from Fire Emblem and don't accept much else.

*The playrate for Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn among people that started with Awakening is atrocious. Understandable, considering they never got Virtual Console releases and go for approximately $8932984579 on amazon.

*Perhaps out of disappointment with Awakening, about 20% less of the people who started with Blazing Blade and Sacred Stones went on to play Fates.

*467 people have played at least one Fates game. That's just under Awakening's 480+ playrate.

*A person's favorite game was very strongly correlated to their favorite protagonist. In one of the more extreme examples, 91% of people who voted Robin as their favorite protagonist also list Awakening as their favorite game.

*Oliver defeated Arden in the Best Girl poll by a margin of 158-147. True beauty has been recognized.

I should dredge up some of the other stats I compiled. There were some interesting bits. Fire Emblem 7 people were the most 'elitist' (likely to rate the other games in the series the worst when compared to their favorite). Players that played the pre-3DS games were likely to rate the 3DS era games lower than people who only played Awakening/Fates/Echoes, but not by much. Unsurprisingly, people's favorite protagonist was highly correlated with their favorite game, with the strongest example by far being Robin - something like 95% of people who voted him as their favorite main character also voted Awakening as their favorite game.

Huh, is that really true? That's super surprising!

I held some extensive polls among the Fire Emblem and FEH subreddits asking different questions, one of them being playrate. Radiant Dawn's playrate was atrocious considering that the polls were held on reddits for fans of the series (was something like 44% if I remember correctly). Were easily the least-played translated games.

Convenience is nice (playing portable Fire Emblem > emulated PC Fire Emblem) and I also want others to be able to easily experience my favorite FE games. Radiant Dawn has a worse playrate than Binding Blade among the core fanbase.

Making my way through Blue Lions route. At the moment, my feelings on the cast is that Black Eagles has individual characters I like more while BL works better as a cohesive whole with intertwining stories. This may change as I'm still pre-timeskip.

Rhea is psycho long before the game even starts. Mass executions of non-nobles that oppose her, supports the crest system that strangles the nobility, repeated experimentation on people to try and resurrect her dead mom, forces Seiros knights to be infused with her blood which can (and does) turn them into monsters. There's just better PR in her corner.

I didn't have as extreme a reaction as this, but I do agree that Edelgard came out of her route looking less sympathetic than when I started it. Still a better option than Rhea, who is certifiable, but not by that much.

Bow Knight is completely busted. +2 Bow Range, 8 Movement, and Canto? It helps that there's a lot of enemies considered Flying in this game.

Lysithea is in the running for best unit in the game, so yeah that's some unfortunate luck.

That's just Fire Emblem though. In my first run my Shamir got maybe 5 points of Speed over the course of 25~ levels.

Level up gains are set in stone at the beginning of the level, or something like that, i think? So if you're just soft resetting you might not meet much success

They're not, as long as you restart the mission it varies. I eventually got what I wanted but it took a while, and Ashe's Str growth isn't THAT bad so maybe there's behind-the-scenes RNG I'm not aware of.

I have reset this mission 8 times because Ashe can get a level up immediately and he needs some more strength. No dice so far. The things I do for my pet favorite characters.

Random thought: I like this game the more I play it. I wasn't as high on it as the general fanbase was after my first route (going Church first didn't help...) but the more routes I do, the more I get to see how all the characters intertwine and the different perspectives they offer. I've gotten progressively more immersed in the world. Also killing characters you've gotten previously attached to is brutal and I love it.

EDIT: Another random though - the default map camera for missions is awful, what were they thinking? First thing I do every mission is zoom out and adjust the position.

Bernadetta never clicked for me really. It's just too hard to treat her issues seriously when the writers themselves treat it like it's all a big joke more often than not.

She gets a lot of development in the Crimson Flowers route. Very different (and better) than what her character ends up as in the Church route.

Also Marianne had this perfect dramatic timing for me where I did her B Support where she talks about not getting along with her house and asking you not to bother with her, followed by her shyly asking to join my house afterwards. And it was like, oh, I guess this girl must be protected at all costs.

I had the same reaction to Bernadette too, although it took a while because her Tragic Backstory(tm) is hidden behind some specific supports. She went from a meme character to a character I was genuinely worried for almost immediately when I saw those, yeesh.

Linhardt/Catherine support chain made me like him more.

In general though, Linhardt is a good character for others to bounce off while not being very likable on his own. His 'first kill' reaction and his B Support with Byleth, however, are two of my most memorable moments of my first playthrough. He genuinely seems more horrified by violence and bloodshed than almost anyone else in the cast.

I had recruited Ashe, Sylvain (freebie from being Female Byleth), and Felix in my Black Eagle routes so 1/3 the class is already familiar to me. The others are pretty cool so far.

Started Blue Lions. Fun so far, but I have issues with Mercedes' and Ingrid's voice acting. Mercedes has a questionable voice with good delivery while Ingrid has a good voice with questionable delivery. Pretty much all the rest of the VA in the game is great so it really stands out.

I already like Dimitri more than I ever liked Edelgard though.

I made my Petra a dancer, gave her Sword Avoid, Evasion Ring, and Alert Step, and she turned into a dodge tank. Could walk into any group of enemies and never get hit. Was super clutch in certain scenarios.
