Overexertion, and how many times she tried to find people with a blindfold on. Mike was very concerned using her so often would take a toll on her. When she tried to find Billy, that session clearly drained her and sapped her of her powers more than usual, when she tried to exit and Billy grabbed her arm, then she took the blindfold off and her friends weren't there initially. That session sapped her, then she was greatly weakened when the thing messed up her leg.

So I think it was a combination of her being used to find people with her mind so often, which has to be much more draining than simply closing a door with her mind or something basic, that may even be more draining than physically moving stuff or fighting monsters or people. The intensity of finding Billy and seeing his thoughts drained her, then the thing injuring her leg weakened her overall which obviously affected her energy levels and her ability to use her powers.

Yeah they were showing that she was clearly over exerting herself the whole season. She was constantly bleeding from her nose.

Shes been doing that throughout the entire series

I mean the last season ended with her character basically boiling over with rage and determination to get her daughter back and upend Gileads insane system of rule which was awesome

Eight episodes in though and it seems like that has been totally squandered. I know her character could face consequences for going against the rules but it just seems like episode after episode has her faced with some terrible choice and she continues to choose seething but quiet compliance.

Its made worse by the fact that there keep being moments where it really seems like she is going to make some symbolic stand. She was live on air with the waterfords and she just stood there stewing. She could have broken the vase behind her or quickly shouted some plea for help. Then there was the execution by hanging that the handmaids were tasked to do that harkened back to the stonings of the first season. That really seemed like a time that she could have done something and she even had made a symbolic stand against that kind of thing before.

One thing I find very far fetched about the evidence against Simpson are the two bloody gloves the police supposedly found.

They were the main piece of physical evidence that tied the crime to him and I just find it hard to imagine that the guy went to the effort to wear gloves while committing the murder, but then just removed one at the scene of the crime, drove home and casually tossed the other just outside of his house in plain enough view that an officer could spot it while doing an outside the home search.

Theres also the fact that both the defense and the prosecution agreed that the murders took place between 10:15-10:40pm, but Simpson was picked up at his home by a limousine driver at 10:24pm

It's the idiotic notion that taking away the Electoral College, the popular vote (as it has been) would rule the elections from here to eternity... and that somehow conservatives would never have any sort of control of the government.

Conservatives could still hold power without the electoral college and gerrymandering if they adjusting their policies to appeal to the majority of americans.
