Granted probably not that impressive now with awakenings but this guy has been a major personal pain due to his damage reduction savage and it's so satisfying tearing through this guy like butter with cap breaking Valis! Good thing too since I want to make a Madeen with 2 blade wards for Ark.

The HP boons makes Shantoto's trance a little RNG dependant though.

Squall's, I have his en ice LMR and his USB2, so if I sandwich the glint between them it should max the infusion and buff his chases on Syldra.

Plus it's ice boosting armor so I can combine the two Snow BSB coats.

Also picked Aerith USB2/LM for the selection. Even though it's on the upcoming Lucky Draw it's better safe than sorry (watch me dupe it now...)

I beat Kefka with awakening boosted Valis from Terra so I didn't have to worry about the counter ultimas.

I also got another rainbow on the daily, Yang's unique. At least it's my first soul break for him I suppose.

Still haven't done my USB/LM select, just when I decided that I should probably get Aerith's USB2 and dualcast LM the MVP letter reveals an upcoming lucky draw that has her USB2 on it...

Lakshmi isn't a boss you want to stall though, the longer you stay in a phase the more status effects, haste removals and nul-darks you have to deal with. The best defense against her is a strong offense in all honesty (or Tyro USB1 spam)

I just feel like I'm that weird spot where I may have the tools to kill her quick (I have Cloud and Riku's USBs and AOSBs) but Garland's weaker chain + no dualcast LM and no awakenings is probably going to hold me back from killing her before the doom timer kills everyone, which is probably why I'm leaning towards Tyro as the support.

If you have Vanille USB2 that would probably work, since it also has a holy damage reduction.

One thing that makes Madeen easier is that you can take your time with her for the most part (unless you're dooming yourself) I beat her with a semi-poverty team of Seymour (USB) Raines (BSB(also have his OSB but it's not really worth breaking savage mode IMO) Garland (Chain) OK, and Elara.

I get around that with Elara's BSB with a last stand. Madeen's pretty much just a holy mixture of Belias/King Behemoth except you need to dispel her instead of attack breakdown.

Besides 1 8000 attack is a lot better than dealing with 100% auto-hit sleep/confuse.

I have no holy dampen and I can beat Madeen just fine, you just have to watch out for the Savage Terra Homing that does 8000+ in the third phase.

Madeen's the easier of the two though and most most importantly the slower in savage mode. Lakshmi also has more damage reduction in savage mode (and her savage is based on health, not turns like the other magicite) and she also removes haste, and status effects if you dawdle too long.

But like I said before, Sice just an option, I'm probably going to Tyro or OK for my boostga when I fight her.

I got another rainbow on the daily this week, Squall's en ice LM, a dupe but still 3 rainbows in a week is pretty nuts, too bad none of them were useful though.

I'm also waiting on the new dark abilities before I tackle Lakshmi, well mostly just the physical one. I never really used physical dark because I don't like hurting myself and could never decide whether to hone crimson cross or sanguine Cross (both are still R1) and Dread Weapon is really weak. I'd much rather use dark magic but I don't really have that choice against Lakshmi so I'd rather just get the new ability for Riku, I got Cloud's stuff from Banner 4 so he can do heavy stuff and Garland can try to weasel imperils.

I guess Sice is also an option since I have her BSB/USB and her BSB is a boostga with doom so I could use the physical dark zone without needing Death Throes but I'm not confident I can sub30 Lakshmi yet and Sice's doom countdown is 30 seconds.

Man even with Bartz's AOSB from the Dream Select I'm still having trouble with Hecatoncheir- fuck that third phase, and fuck those savage quakes! I hate when I get them twice in a row! At least I got two more magicite today but sheesh I was hoping that getting a wind AOSB would finally make him constantly beatable but it's still pretty RNG based hoping Bartz gets enough dualcasts in that last phase that Hecat dies before my party does.

I don't think Rydia USB2 is on the dream select (it's pretty much all pre brave USB relics)

I'm not sure what to pick honestly for the USB select, at first I was going to get Arc USB1 since I need a holy mage for Ark but I got Hope's USB on the USB Lucky and Rem's USB on RoP and Raines BSB is still holding up okay thanks to the new softcap so I don't really need a another holy mage now.

I guess it comes down to a standard utility like Aerith USB2 or Tyro USB3, maybe Raines USB1 for more offense on Ark? Maria's USB is also an option since my FF2 DPS is garbage but she gets an awakening that makes it obsolete later on a godly FF2 banner that I'll probably pull on.

Thanks to Beatrix USB and finally creating Healing Smite I got torment 2 Meltagemini beaten and got all current neo torment second phases sub30'd! But man that incubus doomsday huuuurts.

Spent all those earth crystals I was saving to r5 the 6* physical dark ability on Healing Smite to get it to r5 so Beatrix can do max chases, but now I gotta get 120 earth crystals by the 24th...

Ugh FF2 is going to be another wall since I have no good DPS for that realm.

Uggggggh The Apoc Bandersnatch CM fight in the FF9 event has to be the most BS non-magicite/Torment/Fest fight since the Valgarmadia that spammed stop. They use a 100% sleep attack frequently and you can't do anything unless you have Qunia's BSB2 to prevent it.

I gave up trying to do the CM and just switched to OK/Terra/Sazh and had Terra used Awakening Valis to kill them before they could do their sleep shit.

I got Montblanc's super on the daily today, I thought it was useless at first since it's a poor man's OK mUSB but I also remembered he has IC3 and can take OK's job as the booster so OK can go offensive quicker with his USB3.

Probably not worth diving at the moment, he has two LMR but neither of them are dualcast for some reason, but something to consider in the future.

At first I felt the core banner was an auto pull because of the above average USBs and glints, but after getting OK USB3 and Terra's awakening Wedge seems useless now, especially since I already have Barbarbiccia's USB and am already good on phsyical wind.

Dr. Mog USB would be fantastic for Typhon and Ark though, and Biggs is pretty underrated since his USB always triggers an overstrike which is extremely useful against Deathgaze (unless you got Roxas Awakening or one of the later physical awakenings then yeah he's useless)

Tyro and Elara are obviously good.

Still leaning towards pulling for the most part.

I think I might start doing D??? soon now I have an awakening, FF6 first obviously. Pretty stacked even without the Awakening (Terra USB1/2/LMR1/AOSB, Locke USB1/2, AOSB infusion LM, Strago super, Mog BSB and Relm USB) But I want to get some some more Hecatoncheir magicite for the lightning damper, and I'm going to wait until the AOSB select to get Bartz AOSB since that thing has evaded me so long (and I was hoping I wouldn't need to get it if I got the awakening earlier...) since that damn third phase is near impossible without AOSBs.

Took Terra's Awakening for a test drive on Kefka and D220 Shinryu+Omega. She wrecked them hard even without a chain (Krile's imperil BSB though) but I lost two stamina because I wasn't aware Omega would do the instant kill gimmick early as turn 5 and I forgot to equip Elara's BSB for the Kefka fight and Divine Forsaken killed me.

It was pretty funny seeing the start of the solo Shinryu phase recover then Terra triplecast Meltdown and kill it "NOPE!"

You can also use Irvine's chain as a proxy Ice chain with Squall, Laguna, Rinoa, Edea, Qustis and Irvine himself can use the ice sharpshooter.

Ark's savage mode actually increases damage taken so you don't need a holy magic chain but Deathgaze has a damage reduction and a doom countdown so a physical chain is very important.

I finally got some characters to magia level 200 (OK, Ramza, Laguna and Squall)



Ugh, whadda drag. Only 100 magia grinds from now on if I do any more grinding (hopefully not since I did this extreme for Syldra and Adamantoise.)

I got Delita's glint on the daily today, I suppose this might be okay if Delita ever becomes more than a poor man's Sora. I haven't gotten a non dupe rainbow off the daily for like two months now so I guess this makes me happy for that alone.

Also word of warning if you're farming magia on the event record dungeons, if you complete all of them and replay a dungeon there the game then kicks you off the island and you have to deal with another load time and Tyro getting off the airship.

According to dataminers the banners are actually going to be the same as Japan's except that Red XIII's chain and LM were replaced with Rikku's chain and LM, which is great news! (well unless you were looking forward to Red' chain)

All in on banner 4, that's the most powerful banner the game will have till they start having 3 awakenings per banner.

FYI the Record Dungeons in the 4th anniversary fest are 0 stamina but still give Magia points! Farm 'em while you can!

Fastest way is to do the Barbariccia one, it only has one cutscene to skip and you can kill her instantly with Ramza's full ATB/instant cast LMR and assault saber.

Gotta say the multiplayer made me feel like a hero, I kept failing it several times tonight due to lag, people not attacking, status effects ect but I final got a team of randoms that got through it, they blew their Orlandeau and Sora early with doublecasts and left Tifa as the only DPS with two Elaras, Aerith,Tyro and my Larsa.

Tifa used her USB2 dualcasts Ironfist Earths and then the earth Fires Within to keep her alive during the third and fourth repaired phases, let the other guys escape and her and Larsa were the last two left. I wrathed up two bars on Larsa so he could use them during the last repaired phase and had Tifa use her AOSB to KO X-ATM in one turn, and we escaped and finally cleared this one.

I though Terra's USB2 was a dud at first when I got it but it helped me beat Manticore chainless.

Only ability double USBs are going to be made truly obsolete by Awakenings (even then Vivi's USB1 will have it uses though since it's Black Magic double and his Awakening is double fire) You also have to be aware that Awakenings can only be used once per dungeon, while that's not an issue now since most awakenings are overkill for 5* magicite and torments, Odin has 3 million HP so he can outlast the awakening if you're not stacked enough and 6* magicite have been confirmed in Japan and those likely will be designed to be built around awakenings and outlast them as well.

Also remember it's once per dungeon as well and in the upcoming Battle Square USBs have the advantage there since it's a gauntlet of separate dungeons.

Guh I really needed a DPS USB for this realm with the Torment next month, all I have is Firion USB1, all I can do now is hope he gets the knight *5 buff early.
