Last minute thought, I'm calling the leak fake. I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been any new Xenoblade content yet revealed, not even an assist trophy for an X character. I think they're hiding something.

Well.. so this happened:



I was messing around and found this staircase that let me evade the law forever. When you kill people in it, their bodies crumple at the bottom of the staircase. There's no other way in, so new officers have to waddle and stumble over the corpses making them easy targets and generating more bodies to pile up. Also, I accidentally shot a lamp and set the house on fire which burned the giant pile of corpses to a crisp. Neat little detail there.

Anyway, I'm not sure if it was because all the lag the massive pile of dead bodies caused or whatever but I fell through the wall and into a featureless void. That was good time to stop playing I thought.

I'm not even sure if they had enough development time to design a full-on SSE style mode. I think it's more likely we just have some sort of Adventure Mode kind of stuff, especially since we've already seen confirmation that there will be some sort of boss battles.

The problem with the Grinch leak characters is that they're all characters that are commonly requested or predicted in leaks. There's no real surprise in any of the choices, which kind of hurts the credibility of it since it feels like an amalgam of the common Smash community choices for new characters. Of course, Ultimate does feel like a "fan choice" kind of game in regards to its character selection so it's hard to judge how off base it will end up being.

The whole "interactive battle system" is expanded upon and done much better by later Mario RPGs, but those games are much more simpler when it comes to the battle system overall. SMRPG kind of plays like a Final Fantasy-lite sort of game which is really and makes it a bit more unique compared to the Paper Mario or Mario and Luigi games. I would say it still holds up great even today.

I think Sakurai said they planned to reveal every fighter before launch, so unless they're doing 2 directs this month they should be revealing all 7 if Grinch is real.

They could be saving one or more for a few days before the game releases.

There would be no way to prevent leaks if they waited that long.

I mean you have to pretty much intentionally cause that glitch to trigger with the help of a guide.

Not really. All it takes it fighting one random enemy with Shadow in your party and being unlucky enough. I think there are plenty of people who lose the dog and don't even realize it, they just sort of notice that it hasn't been appearing anymore

Because you were timed on mission completion and could earn rewards for beating them fast enough. That encouraged many players to try to find the fastest strategies, and once they saw how fun it was they began just going for the best times overall.

I do think this will be the general public reaction.

The internet knows damn well who Geno is at this point, but I guarantee you among your average person picking up the game, especially those under 18, Geno will be one of the least-recognizable newcomers. And that's saying something among this group.

Is Geno less recognizable to the average person than Marth and Roy in Melee? Or Ice Climbers? Or Game and Watch? Or Pit? Or Lucas? Or ROB? Or K.Rool? Or, let's be honest, even Captain Falcon?

And it's not like he won't be introduced without context. It'll be explained who he is, and he'll have trophy information to help people learn about him.

I mean... it was really obvious that he was supposed to be a big puppet. That was the whole point. He was a child's toy brought to life. I wouldn't consider his design to be unusual or surprising.

They could have fixed it later, but I would like to know the source of the original flawed banner instead of just hearing that the banner had a badly cropped Mac secondhand. I can't find any evidence of that.

The mobile/steam version of the game is assy. Not just the new graphics, but there are bizarre tiling errors in the map graphics, and leftover useless mobile UI even in the PC version. It's a terrible way to experience the game.

The GBA version is really great. Especially because of the improved translation. The SNES script is serviceable, and obviously has a lot of nostalgia attached, but there are so many plot elements and important characterization that ended up getting lost. The music took a hard hit, but there are fan patches that fix that.

Judging the validity of a roster based on the character select size is really dumb. There've been multiple Smash games where the select screen hasn't been perfectly even, it would be uneven anyways once DLC characters are added, and it wouldn't make the slightest amount of sense for them to create characters with the intent of balancing the select screen.
