That's true. Another good thing about Steam in particular is that users can leave reviews for the individual DLC's in addition to the game itself, so you know which DLC's are worth getting, and which ones are steaming piles of crap.

That aspect can help protect your wallet as you try to get the good stuff and avoid bad stuff.

You can also disable the individual DLC too if you want to play a more vanilla game. I really only want one DLC because it unlocks the first playable time period which sucks since it's behind a paywall and you can see it in the main menu. I think the viking DLC is like that too but I got that when I got CK2.

I used to think 20-40 dollars for DLC was excessive, but I'm now seeing some games on Steam with several hundred dollars of DLC, for a SINGLE GAME (some even pushing $1000+ in total content).

Those DLC come out slowly over time. I already mentioned CK2 which is at about $500 worth of DLC now.

1. Sausage gravy is like a breakfast gravy. Lots of places have it for certain breakfast items. Waffles are a breakfast item. And fried chicken goes with waffles.

Also, I think local shops are hit or miss. I dont hate many places, though. I like the glazed from Krispy Kreme and the Boston Cream from Dunkin. I like some of the other types on donuts some of the places around here serve. But of I go to those places, I usually get Klobsnk. But I think they called them kolaches...

Most of the time it is only to stop illegal copies of games from being played, though I know Ubisoft added constantly active call in DRM to Child of Light, breaking the game on PS3 unless you disabled your internet connection, since otherwise it can't keep up and issues keep popping up. -_-

Mercenaries 2 is the same, it tries to contact a now dead server if you are online, and will fail to start the game. But at least they didn't do constant checks, so it wasn't bogging down the system with bullshit when the server existed.

It use to be that that only happened if they sold out of everything else and only the display copy was left. Now they fucking do it with every copy which is fucking moronic. Except for the games in the glass case of course.

I got PS4 Borderlands Handsome collection there for around $10. They may suck but that's a great deal for what it is.

I remember getting the pre order version of Assassin's Creed:Revelations from them too. Not really a good deal but just surprising they sold it like that.

I can still remember the time I bought Tales of Berseria for forty American dollars. They took it out of another case, put it in the original case, and was so annoyed at them for expecting me to pay full MSRP price that much money for a game that has been clearly used, I decided that from then on, I would never buy a new game from them again.

It wasn't used. They're just shitty and open all their cases to put the games in those cases. Nobody ever played any of those.

Honestly, if they had done EVERYTHING right (and I admit they have not), I still think it would be a lost cause. It's just so much easier, for me at least, to play a game on my PC then on a system. Laptops are strong enough to play the best games, and are portable, and can be hooked up to any 4k TV wherever you do, and have better graphics then a console at this point. That leaves console exclusives as your primary reason to even bother with a console, and even there, digital is generally easier (no switching game discs), and with an extrenal drive (not to mention the 1 tera drive from the pro) you can store a ton on your system.

Consoles don't have DRM.
