This is globalism:

Trudeau wants to FORCE another nation to change its ancient structure to be uniform with the rest of nations. Toss aside tradition and throw away culture.

Nationalism protects culture and national values. Canada is NOT in the right to just decide on a whim that they have the authority to tell another nation to conform to their standards.

If we're largely talking about crime. If you do a crime you are either fined or imprisoned for whatever time deemed worthy of the crime. After you pay up that's it you should be able to go back out into the real world and continue living your life.

The USA is particular has the issue where felons don't really get a 2nd chance so they just basically end up back at prison because often they find it hard to get a job or a house which only ends up leaving them resorting to crime to get by. And there's also the issue of people who are falsely accused of a crime or declared guilty and later found incident often have these problems as well.

http://thehill.com/homenews/house/400388-lawmaker-lists-fake-sacha-baron-cohen-award-on-campaign-site

Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) on Friday acknowledged that his campaign website listed a bogus award from comedian Sacha Baron Cohen as one of his awards and recognitions.

On the website of Patriots for Perry, the lawmakers campaign website, one of the more than two dozen awards listed is the Yerushalayim Television, 2018 70 for 70 (Recognizing Friends of Israel).

The award is the same one given to former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) when he was duped by Cohen for the actor's Showtime Who is America? TV series.

After multiple reports pointed out that the award was fake, Perry responded on Facebook, saying that he doesnt think the award is real.

After several attempts to interview me (all declined) for what we discovered was a mockery, this addition clearly got by, he wrote. Were human, we made an administrative mistake, and I own it.
He said that the mistake was not newsworthy and criticized the media for covering it.

But reporting this as newsworthy - which it's far from - only further divides us, rewards those who not only try to humiliate in the name of entertainment, but also make a mockery of Israel (one of our closest Allies and of whom I'm a staunch supporter), and detracts from substantive issues that define a stronger community, he said.

Nearly 24 hours after Perrys response, the award was still listed on the Patriots for Perry website. The Hill has reached out to the campaign for comment.

Cohen has tricked a number of lawmakers, mostly Republicans, and other high-profile political figures for his new undercover show. Georgia state lawmaker Jason Spencer was forced to resign after he exposed himself and used the n-word on camera on Cohen's show.

https://www.commondreams.org/news/2018/08/03/insidious-emails-show-trump-white-house-lied-about-us-poverty-levels-discredit

Infuriated by a scathing United Nations report estimating that over 18 million Americans are living in "extreme poverty" and accusing the Trump administration of "deliberately" making such destitution worse with its tax cuts for the rich, the White House insisted in its June response to the U.N. analysis that the United States is overflowing with "prosperity" and that claims of widespread poverty are "exaggerated."

But internal State Department emails and documents obtained by Foreign Policy and the non-profit journalism website Coda Story show that the Trump administration ignored advice of White House economic analysts and knowingly lied to the public about the severity of American poverty, which the U.N. Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights Philip Alston described as "shocking."

Foreign Policy reported on Thursday that officials who were consulted last-minute on a draft of the White House's rebuttal of the U.N. findings "questioned the accuracy of the data the administration was citing."

Despite the fact that the U.N. analysis cited government statistics to bolster its claims about poverty in America, the Trump administration opted to draw from a report by the right-wing Heritage Foundation, which concluded that 250,000 Americans are living in extreme povertya stark contrast to the U.N.'s conclusion that the correct number is 18.25 million.

The Heritage report cited by the White House also concluded that the conditions of the poor must be improving because many families living in deep poverty own cell phones and DVD players.

"What is your source for stating material hardship is down by 77 percent since 1980?" Trudi Renwick, an economist at the Census Bureau, wrote in an email questioning the Trump administration's rebuttal to the U.N.

One economic adviser also urged the White House to "not get into" America's steady economic growth, writing: "Already 8-9 years long... which started under Obama and we inherited and then expanded. But it will end prob[ably] in 1-2 years." The Trump administration ignored this advice, touting a "new era of economic growth."

While the White House brushed aside the concerns of some officials, they did modify parts of their response to the U.N. after advisers questioned how truly prosperous the American economy is under Trump.

"Wages haven't really picked up, other than for supervisors," an official from the Council of Economic Advisers wrote in response to a line in an early draft about workers' salaries rising. "This triggers the leftbest to leave it off."

The line was deleted from the final document.

In contrast to the officials who raised questions about the White House's economic claims, Mari Stull, a senior State Department adviser, attacked the U.N. report as "propaganda" in emails and mocked the U.N.'s accurate claim that American child poverty rates are among the highest in the industrialized world.

"Based upon my own experience, my sons are destitute poor and living off the welfare state of Momso guess they contributed to the 'youth poverty' crisis in America," Stull wrote.

Bathsheba Crocker, a former U.S. diplomat and vice president of humanitarian policy at CARE, called Stull's comment "unbelievable" and wrote that it demonstrates once again the "contempt" the Trump administration has for poor Americans.

Guess Trump was right when he said don't believe what you read.

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/nra-financial-trouble-706371/

Important parts:

The lawsuit stems from actions taken by New York financial regulators to halt the sale of an illegal, NRA-branded insurance policy. The NRA actively marketed Carry Guard, a policy to reimburse members for legal costs incurred after firing a legal gun. In May, the state of New York found that Carry Guard unlawfully provided liability insurance to gun owners for certain acts of intentional wrongdoing. The NRAs insurance partners agreed to stop selling the policies and pay a $7 million fine.'

The NRA complaint alleges that New York was not content to block this single insurance product, but instead campaigned to sever the NRAs ties to a wide range of financial service providers, from insurance companies to banks.

The NRA did not respond to a request for more detail about its financial distress, but its most recent financial disclosure also shows it overspent by nearly $46 million in 2016.

The lawsuit decries pressure from state regulators in the wake of the Parkland, Florida massacre including a letter asking financial institutions to heed the voices of the passionate, courageous, and articulate young people who have experienced this recent horror first hand and from the governor himself. In April, Cuomo tweeted: I urge companies in New York State to revisit any ties they have to the NRA and consider their reputations, and responsibility to the public.

In its complaint, the NRA paints these actions as a malicious conspiracy to stifle the NRAs speech and induce a boycott of the NRA. Cuomo and state regulators, the NRA alleges, were intent on suppressing the NRAs pro-Second Amendment viewpoint and had engaged in unlawful conduct with the intent to obstruct, chill, deter, and retaliate against the NRAs core political speech.

In the filing, the NRA reveals that its longtime insurer broke off negotiations this winter and stated that it was unwilling to renew coverage at any price. [Emphasis in original.] The NRA claims it has encountered serious difficulties obtaining corporate insurance coverage to replace coverage withdrawn. In addition, the NRA contends that multiple banks have now balked at doing business with it based on concerns that any involvement with the NRA even providing the organization with basic depository services would expose them to regulatory reprisals.

Basically companies don't want to do business with the NRA, because of the risk it will have to those businesses bottom lines.
