It's certainly not good, but out of all the ways that could have gone wrong there were a lot worse ways it could have gone wrong.

I just hosted a game with pirate as scum, I've played with him in everyone of his games. IIRC, he has been scum 3 times and town once, I know you know new players have those intangible things about them that makes it easy to differentiate their alignments.

No defense. Reflection on his demeanor and not being able to place it either way. I'm not going to lynch him for replacing in and circumstances. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt here. However I am having trouble getting over pirates ultimate gunslinger claim and a rogue kill middle of day one. I would prefer we get day one lynch right already down one player and the pile on of scare has swayed me.
