The timing didn't matter. Revelation 13:8 refers to Jesus as "the lamb slain from the creation of the world." It was always by Jesus that man was reconciled with God, but Jesus hasn't always been known by that name, and hasn't always been human. He is the word of God, the wisdom of God. Sunhawk posted... 2. Also, if Jesus is the most important person in the Bible, why is only about a four fifths (roughly) of the book about Him? Well to be pedantic for a sec, the Bible isn't a book. It's a volume containing 66 books. That aside, the premise is false. The entire Bible is about Jesus. There are I forget how many prophecies about Jesus scsttered throughout the old testament. The book of Job is about the need for a mediator between God and man. The books of history are about Jesus's genealogy. Etc etc. Sunhawk posted... 3. Why is being LGBT so bad, "an abomination"? Or at least, the three letters of it. Dunno. But I think one misconception is that somehow gay people are worse than everyone else or sin by existing or some nonsense. It's more accurate to say they just have different temptations and only sin when they give in. Sunhawk posted... 4. Why is the book so repetitive? It feels like many of the books within it are talking about how people have turned away from God, or aren't worshipping him the right way? Because history is repetetive. The people of Israel wouldn't learn. As for why the text doesn't just say "and they kept following this cycle a million times", I dunno. Sunhawk posted... 5. Why is being rich bad? The Bible acts like all rich people don't have any spiritual values, but presumably there are some in this world (sadly, I myself am not rich, quite the opposite). It's not. Solomon and Job, for example, were very wealthy and considered two heroes of the bible. The problem is that people foolishly put pride or faith in their money. Sunhawk posted... 6. Which parts am I meant to take literally, and which not? Stuff like (for example) the whale swallowing up Jonah and then Jonah escaping would seem to be scientifically impossible, but of course, one might argue that with God's supernatural powers, it could've happened. The only part I could see an argument for not being meant literally is the book of Revelation, and I still disagree. Sunhawk posted... 7. How should I weight the OT and the NT against each other? The concensus amongst Christians seems to be to give more credence and importance to the NT than the OT, but is this the right attitude, and if so, how much more credence and importance should be given? You shouldn't. They go together. But each thing in its context. "An eye for an eye" is biblical, but this is first of all given to specific people and secondly a limitation, as in if somebody crushes your eye, don't go kill his whole family to retaliate. Jesus later tells us that the law of Moses was a concession for a people whose hearts were hard and that he holds us to a higher standard. --- 53 LIII 16th Prime |

So fine, whatever, I put on my indicator to merge and speed up a bit. Dude matches my speed and stays exactly in that same spot. So ok, I think, maybe he has this weird thing about not getting merged in front of. I slow down. Completely take my foot off the gas. Again he matches my speed. Fine. I literally floor it. And now, I didn't have a fancy sports car or whatever so it wasn't super impressive but I was hoping it was enough for derpman to get the idea. Nope. He stays right in that stupid spot. Finally, I check the rearview (you know you're about to do something stupid when you start with that) and semi-slam the brakes. Like pedal halfway down or so. Freaking dude literally starts to brake also before he finally chickens out and lets me get behind him so I can merge. And then he's all mad at me. --- 53 LIII 16th Prime |

I went to the pool tables where these problems were marginally better and the waiter or whatever harrassed me about buying booze, which I mean I get it, you go in a place, you buy something, that's generally how it works. A lot of people do bad stuff, and a lot of people are bad people, and sure, it sucks, but nobody makes a mobie about them. But Anakin bore with him the hope of a whole galaxy. He was supposed to bring balance to the Force and order to the galaxy. His existence was a promise of good things to come for everyone, and it was the dashing of that hope that made his story such a tragedy. Now he who had been the ultimate hope bearer would himself be the destroyer of that hope and lead to a darkness that could not be overcome. The jumping enemies they named FROGs, lol. SHOW ME YOUR RAGE! The stealth boss who disguises herself as Snake and tells the guy "REMEMBER THIS FACE," and he doesn't even question it. The militias don't see you shooting the PMC's (or else they attack you) but still trust you because you did, wut. I had my ID on a lanyard and I guess a lot of managers walk the floor with khakis, button shirts and lanyards. It never really bothered me though. I would usually try to help anyway, lol. It does have kind of an interesting world but the story goes from mediocre to garbage, it's full of way too many of those in-dungeon puzzles that nobody asked for, and the pacing will test your patience super hard. I used to work in a video game story, and people often would buy stuff like COD and FIFA, and it was pretty obviously for online. They would ask about things like XBox Live and season passes (I hadn't even heard of season passes at the time). I mean I never ask anyone "are you a casual gamer and do you play online"; I just know that I've played online before and found it way too freaking hard to enjoy without dedicating my life to it. --- 53 LIII |
