There is nothing shameful about it, and I think it's s perfectly relevant point. The vast majority of gamers are men, they have always been men and I am sure will always be men. Pick a major where you have more doors open than just making coffee or delivering pizza, expect about $14-$16 an hour for your first job and go from there.

I am a CPA, majored in accounting and went big 4 right out of undergrad. Ooh yea and I married my intern who is also a CPA who makes 110 k a year so household income is approaching 300 k.

The second component to why Africa didn't progress like Europe is climate and native animal population. Harsh climate (sit still for 5 months by a fire and do nothing but think about how much your life sucks and how to make it better cuz its too fucking cold to go outside) and large beasts of burden that can be harnessed for production (horses and oxen) do wonders for human advancement.

Harsh climate also helps in that you have to think longer and harder about how to survive because mangos and bananas aren't just falling from the trees and knocking you in the head like in Africa.

You simply cannot underestimate how important this sort of thinking is in preventing crimes against humanity and wide scale unceasing total war amongst different tribes. You don't understand exactly how importwnt a few thousand years of a singular ideology that everyone subscribes and submits to can do for a continent.

Before humans can progress in any significant manner they need to have some semblance of belonging to a group, else all you will have is constant tribal warfare even when there isnt war there will be no such thing as a "common good". You can only achieve this by literally killing off other tribes and ethnic groups, or by religion. You also need something to keep kings, chiefs, and dictators accountable such that they don't descend into unfettered tyranny.
