Sort of.

The full conclusion is actually an in game book in Morrowind that explains what happened to the thugs, as well as the parents and older siblings.

Basically, the prince you get the quest from ends up becoming King because his brother dies of plague, along with his mother, and his sister marries the Daggerfall king. As a result he orders the thugs murdered in the same way the brother was by his guard captain.

In the end the perpetrators, got what they deserved basically.

I mean the new one's have gruesome shit in them too, but a lot of that is based on graphic and tech advances, like a certain infamous Oblivion characters death. (Dat M rating controversy tho)

But I'm playing Daggerfall right now and the quest where the prince of Sentinel asks you to find out what happened to his missing brother is fucked right up.

Basically his parents told him the brother was kidnapped either by bandits or the Underking.

In reality though his parents hated his brother since Redguard boys are expected to be warriors, but the brother wanted to be a scholar and was very sickly from birth. Since he wasn't dying fast enough (The priest kept curing him, much to his father's disgust), the parents hired thugs to torture him by hitting pressure points on his body with clubs until he was crippled, then kidnapping and leaving him in a tomb to be eaten by undead. Even more disturbing, the third brother who gives the quest is called Lhotun, which means "Second Son" in Redguard language...even though he was the third child, which means his parents had been planning to off him for quite some time.

Not exactly parents of the year, like damn.
