- Hard work

- Soft skills
- Team work
- Programming knowledge
- Managing up

There's no minimum vacation in the USA regulated federally. It depends on where you work. It's up to the employer to give the vacation days. Professionals get more than retail/fast food workers usually, for example.

What the hell is NEET?

I don't know what these things are anymore. They're all made up online terms I can't keep up with.
My generation just called people assholes if they were assholes. Lazy if they were lazy. Full of shit if they're full of shit. Momma's boys, conceited, a couple other words that are banned by the PC police these days. Etc. Called it all like it was. I liked it better than way.

It's a subculture that entails the following:

- Not employed or in school. I'm not talking about summer break or in between jobs either - this is years on end of doing literally nothing with your life

- Probably a high school or college drop out

- No skills or ability

- Maybe had a job at one point doing manual labor that they were fired from after 2 weeks

- No employment prospects

- Any attempts at further education surely ending in failure

- Sit at home and play video games and watch anime all day

- Chicken tendies

See why one word can't do this justice?

Making "plans" to get out of neetdom or at least be somewhat productive, but never following through

Long time lurker here.

There are neets who love and embrace the neet lifestyle, there are others who don't.

For awhile I was in the first category, I really felt blessed for having free time and valued it heavily.

But now it's getting to the point where I feel like my brain is starting to melt... I can't describe but I just feel bad all the time. Bored maybe.

For the last few months I've wrote down some goals. The biggest one would be applying to jobs, but it's mostly smaller things like do some studying on topics I'm interested in, edit some videos for fun, download some new music, read a book, go to therapy, whatever. Just things to keep me feeling somewhat occupied and productive.

But every day has been the exact same. I wake up, drink coffee around 10 am, think about all the things I want / need to do, go on and start clicking around the internet, click reddit / youtube and then mindlesslesly browse, the minute it gets dark I smoke weed and then continue doing the same shit til I pass out. Every day on repeat for weeks and weeks and weeks. I haven't applied to a single job. I haven't edited a single video, I haven't done anything really. I have actually reached out to a few therapists but no one will call back. Even last year I went to my primary care physician for a referral and that therapist never got back to me either.

I just can't explain the way it feels. My brain just feels like mush by the end of every day. I feel gross, and my years of youth are just slipping by this way. Maybe I have an internet addiction. I'm just so fucking bored, and the things is that there is literally NOTHING stopping me from achieving these easy small goals. like what the fuck

Contributing factors for increased cost of living:

- Population increases/increased immigration
- Lack of land for housing
- Technological advances; things cost more to produce
- Global warming making it more expensive to produce food, goods
- Airbnb reducing amount of long term rentals

For declining wages:

- Decimation of manufacturing sector
- Prevalence of 'gig economy: lower paid, part time, unskilled jobs such as ubering
- Unionized jobs being replaced with slave labor like Amazon warehouses
- India/China taking all the tech jobs
- Robots replacing fast food and similar workers

Tldr; don't be a NEET or a directionless dead-end job worker.

Right...make sure you follow up when your job gets offshored to India and you end up unemployed and your house under foreclosure

PS the people you rent to are likely to trash your place, not pay any rent and you'll spend more money in legal fees trying to evict them than any money you made off renting the property

Save $200 a month until retirement age?

Honestly it's really fucking simple.

So

200/month * 12 months/yr * 40 working years = $96,000

You save that money into interest-bearing accounts that turn into considerably more than $96,000.

Are you trolling or really just this ignorant of how life works?

"Interest bearing accounts" where I live are 1% for the premium ones.

You need to take risk to see the kinds of interest or gains you're talking about. Considerable risk. So there's no guarantee you'll actually get that 10% yearly return and may end up losing considerable amounts of money.

And by most, I of course mean most money.

The suckers coming and renting your Airbnb are ripe for the taking. My favorite tactic is the "furniture trap". You provide old furniture that's in disrepair such as beds, chairs etc. These will inevitably fall apart upon use. This is when you collect damages from the renters. You can probably get up to 3x the value of the item because these guys just don't know any better.

After they're gone, prepare the furniture item again by loosely nailing back in broken legs, boards etc and set the trap for the next sucker. Rinse and repeat.

It's a self fulfilling prophecy of thinking you'll hate work, and then the only work you can get is awful minimum wage drone work rather than an actual interesting and engaging job that challenges you mentally. I mean, I expect pretty much everyone who works unskilled things like retail, food service or call centers hates them.

Started second week of wagecuck job: This isn't sustainable

The first week went ok-ish, and the weekend came around quickly. Then I blinked and it was time for week 2

The weekend was a joke that went by so fast it was shocking, you have your first day off, then you are thinking "i'm back in tomorrow"

Today I didn't get out on time because the tills didn't balance (eventually we figured it out) So i missed the bus and had to wait an hour for the next one, ended up getting home at 8.00

I felt like shit getting up this morning, I have to get up at 6:50 in order to get to the bus stop on time, The busses are not reliable so I have to get the one before the one I need in case something goes wrong. I felt drained to hell, and when I get home I don't really even want to do anything, like I didn't even log into my MMO and do dailies today, I was that wrecked, i've just been watching shit on youtube.

Anyway sorry for the rant. I really need to hang in there for probably minimum of 2 months, but ideally 3, but i'm already concerned that each day is turning into an endurance act more than anything.

Nope. I'm not laid off though. Just heard about it.

I'm sure you will be, based on your bragging on here about playing cards and doing fuck all at work.

I'm going to print this topic out as a stern reminder for the guys on here who brag about surfing the net and boasting about getting paid to do nothing. Your number will be up sooner or later friends.

Why would Nintendo pay for those and not for ARMS?

Why would Rockstar pay for Red Dead but not LA Noire or Max Payne 3?

Because ARMs isn't going to get their company out of bankruptcy like Zelda or Mario did
