I didn't realize IX was coming up so soon. I'm totally broke on Mythril and I want to pull in the XIV banner too :(

Anyway yeah, if you don't wan to take Vivi now (which makes sense) then I think Maria is your best choice. Ashe is good but Maria's is more powerful, and you're meant to beat the lightning Magicite before you move on to water, and as an added bonus it's a +earth bow while Ashe's isn't +lightning (or maybe RS locked, but definitely not unlocked)

@Lopen What are your weaknesses? If you're having trouble with Quetzalcoatl Maria is a good choice. But if you can already beat Quetzalcoatl there's no point in picking her.

And, it's pretty sad if Noel with both USBs is worse than Squall with just a BSB. But I was forgetting I also have Squall's ASB so he definitely makes the team. So right now it's:

1. Healer slot
2. Laguna (CSB)
3. Squall (BSB2, ASB)
4. Celes (USB, LMR)
5. Maybe Noel? If I don't need some other utility for the fight.

Alright, FINALLY managed to take down the judges using Cloud and Zack cheese. Team was Cloud, Zack, Eiko (for the haste on her USB heal, which I need at the beginning of the fight and after Gabranth's dispel), Tyro for wall + entrust, Shelke for entrust, and Auron RW. Basically just powered up Cloud and used Chain+enWind+SOLDIER Mode+imperils to take out the first two judges with Tornado Strike. By the time I got to the last phase I was able to triple imperil Gabranth and hit him with Cloud's ASB. Slow and painful but it worked.

LOL, just 100 gemmed Noel's USB1 on this banner after getting his USB2 on the first banner. Both times I was hoping for pretty much anyone else (but especially Serah here), but what can you do. I guess Noel beats out Squall for a spot on my physical ice team right now since Squall has just his BSB2.

Judges is literally the most annoying fight in the history of the game for me. Like some have been harder but they were either gil only rewards so you can just ignore them, or permanent content so you can just leave it until you get stronger. There are so many obnoxious things about this fight that I hate:

- the dialog that makes it annoying as hell to restart
- the blind on turn 3 that sometimes forces you to restart your run
- the interrupts
- the buff that only one USB in the entire game can overwrite
- the omni resist on Gabranth that makes your damage pathetically low
- the mechanic that kills your party if one judge takes too much damage (thank you 25% doublecast chance for making me wipe that run...)
- the fact that you can't retreat so you need to wait for them to kill you if you want to change your party.

Stack a few extra breaks (dancer and support skills should be sufficient) and his damage becomes pitiful. I beat him without keeping any buffs except for haste up without Godwall

Thanks for the suggestion... tried that with 3 different teams but never even made it past the first two judges with the team changes I needed without godwall. This is one of the most annoying fights I can remember in this game.

Anyone got any good tips for the Judges fight? I've died a few times on that one and I want those crystals before it goes away. My main problem is once I get to Gabranth my damage is terrible and he deals a ton (even when I refresh godwall after his initial dispel)

I'm still struggling with Famfrit. The two main challenges are the beginning (surviving and getting enough SB for Ovelia's USB and Kain's chain early) and phase 3, where the combination of protect and silence is tough to handle. The big problem comes down to ability slots - I need at least one entrust from Ramza to make the early part of the fight work, but then I have to choose between Magic Breakdown to deal with Faith or Banishing Strike to deal with protect.

I think it's potentially better than her LM2 in a Flash Disaster build. But I question whether that build is worth doing.

The glint is a dupe, and the brave was probably my 4th most-wanted item on the banner since I have Lightning's USB1 (behind her ASB and Snow/Vanille USBs). But hey, at least I actually get a disco for a character I like for once, and the LM adds a bit of flexibility too.

Eh personally it doesn't bother me at all.

Also, is there any chance this means we'll start getting the SSB selection draws? I think that's what JP gets instead of DU lucky draws.

We're also getting the 15 mythril realm draws (which are BSB+, so no SSB).

The jump trick is a cool idea, but I don't have anything for Mog and my other characters are too good to take out (I have USBs for Terra, Celes, Locke, and Sabin). So yeah, that future banner definitely looks nice with the ASBs for both Locke and Sabin. I do really wish I could get Terra's though.

Pretty cool. That's DWhale. Very close to the 40% bonus there but only got the 50%. Some refining of the strategy could probably win. Honestly just putting Celes on the team instead of Setzer may make a decent difference in terms of output but I feel the survivability from his breaks has some value as I only have Relm's burst not her Ultra so I dunno.

Mog Center + Celes bottom instead of Celes might be the right way here. Or maybe even Relm center.

I've been working on that one too, I got to 70%... but my team is very different from yours, aside from also relying on Relm's BSB. The best trick I've found so far is manipulating the early turns to get both Terra and Locke into trance automatically. The fight goes pretty smoothly for a while, but I start to fall behind on healing and then the middle character's doom counter runs out right around the time the second sleep attack hits characters 1&5, and that's pretty tough to recover from.

I saw someone on reddit saying you can preempt the second sleep by blowing through that phase completely with ASBs, but sadly I don't have any ASBs for VI.

Thanks Lopen. I think Celes is the one I want more. BTW anyone know how necessary it is to have an OSB against Geosgaeno? Can you just rely on your Magicite to end Savage mode? I don't really want to spend $30 on an OSB, but I'm thinking about it since I have none for that team.

Yeah, BUT. I have Celes's USB and her LMR is good too. For OK I only have his pUSB and the only place where he's a significant upgrade for me right now is my physical lightning team. If I ever get his USB3 then I'll really wish I had his LMR.

Celes's would help me on physical wind and physical ice and maybe physical fire too. Plus I like her. But in the long run its power level probably isn't as high. Ugh, I'm really agonizing over this.

That ability double banner looks nice too but I drew Celes's ability doubler and we're not even sure to get it, or the earlier one, so meh.

I'm more interested in the sooner ability double banner because of Tifa, and my Quetzalcoatl run is really painful right now. But on that one I already have two dupes (of just the 6*, not looking at the other stuff) and it's probably better to just go for a sure thing now. (If Tifa were an option on this select banner I think I'd just go for her and then hope to get Vivi later)

a lot of chain holders have LMRs that are good for them. and i'm assuming you don't have Ignis BSB but if you did that's probably a better pick than OK unless you also have OK's mUSB. same with Tyro if you have godwall.

I actually already have Tyro's LMR but no godwall, and it's not that high of a priority for me. As for chain wielders, let's see what's actually available for the chains I have:

Galuf 1 (monk doublecast) - have
Red 1 - useless
Shantotto 1 (witch triplecast) - decent
Kain 1 (spear damage) - decent
Tidus 1 (enWater) - have 3 copies
Rinoa 1 (magic ramp up) - useless
Laguna 1 (20% imperil) - decent
Zack (wind chase) - have
WoL 1 (attack ramp) - useless
Seifer 1 (attack ramp) - have/useless

So yeah, three of them would be kinda useful but I don't really see any of them being at the same level as Celes or OK. I dunno, maaaybe Kain.

Thanks... yeah, I'm 95% sure I'll go for Vivi. With his USB he instantly becomes my best water mage too and he might even pass Rinoa to be my #2 earth mage (although I'm not so sure about that one)... anything that makes those Magicite clears less painful would be nice.

Now I also need to pick a LMR. Originally I was thinking Celes but I'm not using her quite as much as I thought. Recently I started thinking about OK... I've always used Ramza as my main buffer but I did pick up his pUSB somewhere along the line in a lucky draw or ROP. For lightning Magicite especially he seems good since we'll be getting the 5* lightning celerity ability around then and he has doublecast celerity in his dive. Plus it's just a really good LM. Any others I should consider? Zidane 2 would be nice but it's not needed for like 5 months.

I did a pull with 30 mythril and 1200 gems since banner 5 seems good. Got 1/11, my 4th copy of Aphmau's BSB. I only had 2 dupes on the banner. How is it even possible to have as terrible luck as I've had this fest? I thought last fest was bad, but this one was much much worse.

For USB select the main ones I'm considering are Shantotto (leaning toward her), Vivi, Porom, or Relm.

Main arguments for Shantotto: Lightning Magicite is coming soon, I already have her chain so she's already on my lightning team, and because she's a witch she will (in 2 months) get her own 6* lightning spell so she doesn't have to fight with Ashe over Chain Thundaja. Biggest arguments against Shantotto: witches are only useful in 2 elements, and having her chain already means I probably need to entrust her to be able to do both.

Vivi: Probably the strongest option overall, and also one of my favorite characters. I already have both LMRs (and the first one is strong for off-element). Biggest reason not to is that it appears on a couple other banners in the next few months.

Porom: More versatile than Shantotto, specializes in lightning, and not on the banners where I would draw for Vivi's stuff. And would help some with IV torment. But overall I don't like him that much and he competes with Vivi (and others) for abilities.

Relm: Instantcast, and would help me on the VI torment where I think I'm pretty close to being able to clear d???. But the downside is no last stand, and it more or less becomes obsolete if I get Elarra's next time (I'm pretty sure I'm going for either Elarra or Aerith on the next one).

Other... maybe Kain? I have his Chain and I know the two apparently make a strong combo. I'd like some others like Zidane or Vaan but I can't really justify them here.

Hmm, I tried the judges fight and I killed the first two but ran out of steam against Gabranth. The omni-resist made my damage bad, and at around 50% health he did back to back AOEs that took down my last stand and killed me. Sounds like I should consider a dancer or at least breakdowns, and bring a better non-elemental character.

On the bright-ish side, I did a run against Quetzelcoatl where 4/5 of my team survived past the 1 minute mark and we had him probably below 5% health. But we were just out of hones. So hopefully more hones + keeping Dorgann alive and we can win this one.

There was also an earlier ability double banner with Vivi, Maria, Tifa, King, and Orlandu. That one should be only about a month away if we get it, it was almost 5 months ago in JP:

Yeah. I mean I would like to have Terra's brave, OK's USB3, or Cloud's glint, but none of them are top tier for me right now. I already have Cloud's ASB and I really don't want Faris's thing.

So I think my plan is grab either Elarra or Aerith USB on the second USB select if we get it. Then I'm back to deciding whether b5, b3, or Quinoa is the best use of my mythril.

I tried Quetzalcoatl with Stone Press on Galuf, but it seems like I'm basically one turn behind because of needing him to start the chain. Turn 1 he chains, turn 2 he uses Grand Charge, turn 3 Quetzalcoatl goes into Savage mode but using Stone Press at level 1 won't break the cap so we get a full round of taking extra damage and doing no damage. Exact same thing happens the second time he goes into Savage mode, and then we start dying. Not really sure what to do at this point, do I need to cut one of my better earth characters (Tifa or Dorgann) for a dedicated Heavy user (Cloud or Cinque - who has nothing but an LM)? Bleh.

Whew, finally managed to clear Behemoth King with Red's chain. Damn that's a tough fight. Time was 47.55. I dunno if I'm going to be able to farm this one now but I'll try to get at least 4 copies... more than that might kill me.

Hmm, well, after I wrote that I did spend the 50 on the earth banner and I got Red XIII's chain and LMR, and Penelo's BSB. So I guess we'll see if that's enough to get me over the hump. Still bummed I got nothing for Rinoa, but this is easily my best pull since the first one (when I got Laguna's chain, my only other 6* in 450 mythril)

Have to say I'm feeling kinda discouraged at this point. I'm just nowhere close to beating these Magicites, and based on some of the clears I've seen people posting it seems like maybe the problem is I'm just bad, but I spent hours trying tonight without much progress. I did get some good pulls on ROP but between 400 mythril on Quinoa and Banner 1 I got almost none of the stuff I actually wanted. I have 50 more now thanks to the bonuses and dungeons we got but I'm not sure where to spend it or if even a good pull will be enough to make a difference.

I don't think there's supposed to be a 33 draw this time. 4th Anniversary gets a 40-pull so we have that to look forward to, along with the free AOSB pull.

Spent my last 50 and got 2/11, both Maria's LMR. Fine, whatever, at least I got that one and it's +earth which I badly need.

I can't believe how badly I struck out on Rinoa's stuff, spending 200 mythril on the VIII banner (that had FIVE Rinoa things) and 150 here and I didn't get either one of her braves, her ASB, or any of her 3 LMRs, the only single thing I got was the glint.

Second pull 1/11 Cinque LMR. FMFL. At least that would have been Tifa's LM if DeNa wasn't set on ruining everything for Global. I'm really mad right now.

Precious Watch on daily draw (old shared SB relic). More fodder for legendary weapons.

I did give Behemoth King a couple tries using Galuf's chain but eh... when I tried a traditional party with a healer my DPS was too low, and when I tried using just Shelke/Edge to stay alive I couldn't keep up with the needed SB production for Eblan Doppelganger. Maybe I should just clone the strategy above (I have everything except Rinoa's ASB) but I think I'll do some draws tonight first.

The main thing about the Realms on Parade is that the average quality is low but the price and volume more than makes up for it. In the first one my luck was terrible until the very last pull and then I got WoL's chain on the last day. IMO it's worth pulling every day and you hope your luck averages out in the long run.

Anyway, this was a good RoP for me, way better than the other two.

Okay I tried again and did more than half against Quetzalcoatl (probably around 60% ish). That was with Tifa's OSB to break out of Rage mode, so maybe with Stone Press it will be doable since I can use Tifa's bar on better stuff like her ASB). I do have a problem with needing 2 ability slots for heavy abilities though since right now Galuf is carrying Shellga, I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that.

Not going to bother with Behemoth King until banner 1, it doesn't seem like there's a point. I do have Maria's USB but that's basically it. Rinoa's Brave would help a lot, so would Red's chain.

I tried Quetzalcoatl and geez, that is one ridiculous fight. I felt pretty well prepared going in with Galuf's chain, Dorgann's USB, Tifa with Glint/BSB/OSB/ASB, and Edge with SSB and ninja abilities.But I was barely making a dent. The one thing I definitely do need is more +earth armors... only have 2 of them (and I need another +earth weapon that Edge can use). I dunno. Stone Press might help some but it doesn't really seem like enough. Maybe if I had Aerith's or Elarra's USB.

I drew Maria's USB in the ROP - of course it's my third copy, and no one else can even take advantage of the +earth aspect since it's a bow. I wish someone else could have gotten it.
