He should have played it cool, not have tried to stop them as if he was security or a cop, and should have definitely NOT have pulled his gun, UNLESS they were threatening to, and / or actually trying to assault him. IMO he should have been arrested for brandishing his weapon without just cause and either got off because he was white and / or lucky. If he thought the group was decently suspicious or up to no good, he should have called security for the building and / or the landlord and explained the situation, so they can monitor the building's camera footage later and maybe even talk to the tenant letting them in. He could have even notified the police to investigate if the concern was legitimate enough. If there were any criminals and / or crimes in the area they'd generally know who and / or where to look out for. Criminals hate dealing with the police being around or even on their backs and would probably start to shy away from that location, which could possibly alleviate his problem. By doing what he did he invited unnecessary problems into his life and gained nothing worthwhile for his trouble. The gunman seems to be rather egotistical, impulsive, and emboldened by the fact that he carries a firearm. Not a good combination, nor a good representative of a responsible gun owner. Regardless if there are any consequences down the line, hopefully he learns to swallow his pride and do the smart thing next time.... Nier Automata is still a great game(8/10) though, and thankfully the gameplay is actually pretty good this time around. It's just something the best competitive players accept and strive to overcome. If someone can't get over this they probably just shouldn't play the game competitively. It's just incredibly sad that a group of people went there to test their skills against peers and the winner(s) possibly walk away with something nice, all the while doing something they love, and some selfish homicidal lunatic with a frail ego couldn't get over his loss and decides to end some of their lives.
