I've always thought that Christianity was successful at displacing the pagan religions since the pagan gods were not your friends but warred in the heavens and mortals had to deal with the fallout. Jesus basically looks like a young version of God and he wants to save you as well as being a man on Earth as well as God so that's an attractive idea compared to the pagan gods. --- Don't tease the octopus, kids! |
