Socialism and Capitalism have coexisted in this nation forever dude, and will continue to moving forward

This. Don't buy into the false dichotomy between socialism and capitalism. They can and do coexist in basically every nation.

Socially funded programs in the US include: police, firemen, armed forces, public education (through high school), national parks, most roads, etc. Almost no one thinks that most of these things should be privatized.

Meanwhile, virtually all consumer goods in the US are created by capitalist, private companies, and the majority of services are also provided by capitalist, private companies. Almost no one thinks that these should be converted into socialist government controlled entities. Bernie and similar politicians absolutely want these things to remain capitalist.

The main points of contention are how much of health care should be socially funded and how much private, and whether or not to extend public education through college instead of ending at high school. Wooo, scary socialism! /s

I prefer women's tennis for much the same reasons I prefer women's volleyball. 1) less overall power means you get more points that have extended play, instead of having the points end with a service winner/ace or a return winner. 2) I like looking at fit women more than I like looking at fit men.

How about showing some play highlights instead of reliving this drama?

That was a strong hold under pressure. Drama aside, a really nice match from Osaka.

I think what the announcers were just saying is correct: men do say worse things--and get warned for it--but they generally shut up when it gets to the point of a potential game penalty.

I haven't caught much of Osaka's play prior to this final. She's showing off an impressive groundstroke game. There aren't many players who can take control back from Serena during a baseline rally.

Yah, wondering if that's gonna affect her play.

She's just about out of wiggle room, needs to get her game in shape or she's gonna be upset.

There might still be a need for pedestrian signals, although the better option would be to segregate pedestrian traffic from automobile traffic. But traffic signals for the sake of cars? Those exist because we can't safely navigate crossing a stream of traffic. AIs in communication with each other don't have that limitation.

Traffic would improve. Massively so if we had them talk to each other so that we could dispense with traffic signals entirely.

Also I challenge you to name a single instance where being more intelligent is not preferable to being unintelligent.

Trying to subsist with minimal available nutrition--specifically, nutrition below the levels necessary to support human intelligence.

You're focused on the benefits of intelligence and discounting the very high, very real cost in energy that it takes to support that intelligence.

Sounds like they are complying with the law. You took the sick leave on this paycheck's pay period. They're going to pay for the sick leave on the next paycheck, i.e. the "payday for the next regular payroll period after the sick leave was taken."

It's not just that the U.S. is big or that public transportation options are poor to non-existent in most areas of U.S., although these things certainly contribute. It's also the fact that the U.S. has for several decades had a feedback loop between most adults having access to a vehicle and the expectation that adults will have access to a vehicle.

Where I live, most new housing developments are situated 5-10 miles (8-16 km) from the nearest grocery store. Many of them don't even have a convenience store or restaurant located within a couple of miles. Cities in the U.S. are for the most part planned and built differently than in many other areas of the world. In most of the U.S., it is extremely difficult to be a fully functional adult without at least shared ownership of a vehicle, and in many places it's effectively impossible.

This depends heavily on information that wasn't given.

If the restriction against making extra money has no duration, most of us should opt out entirely. That restriction prevents us from growing the amounts through investment, and neither option is sufficient to last most of us the rest of our projected lives.

If we can start making extra money after the year is up, but the spending restriction continues to apply with no end point, then the first option is best for most of us. The second option effectively restricts your lifestyle to $104,000 per year or less, no matter how much is eventually in your bank account. You'd be able to pass on a good inheritance, but that's the only potential benefit. The ~$300k you could easily have left over from the first option when the year is up can readily be grown to millions through investing even without supplemental income, and you can accelerate the process through a number of means. It would be relatively easy to surpass a $104K per year lifestyle. Furthermore, if business expenses count as spending money, it would also be possible to exceed the inheritance potential of the million by building and growing a business.

If both the restrictions end after a year, then most should take the million. Most of us can easily to live on 2k per week for a year, after which you start the investment and growing period from a head start compared to the 1k/day option.
