trash job market, trash local media/radio stations, nothing to do, cities are often way overpriced and do the unaffordable aforementioned trash job market (often with big city crime rates to boot), lol politics (there is a reason the consistently worst members of Congress are very often from them), get me out of here man.
the only net positives are somewhat cheaper living if you get an actual decent job, not as hair pulling traffic and people are slightly more approachable in general.

1. frequently depends on what region of America you are in, in much of the Southern US for instance nearly everybody starts the first week of August/end of July, a lot of northern regions seem to start later and I'm not too sure about Western states tbh.

the vast majority of the populace still votes on the general election date, why not make it a date more likely to be free of work constraints, and why not expand the ways you can vote to make the process even easier, Democracies should always make voting as easy and constraint free as possible.

I don't know how it is for every county but if you're registered to vote in gwinnett county, you can vote in literally any polling area. You still get one assigned to you, but it's more like a suggestion.

I live in a heavily republican county close to the coast so the process has always been comically easy for me (granted I always early vote for general elections)
Savannah has had long long lines from what I've been reading however
