paragon didn't have paid dlc (they released new characters for free), it was in-game currency that he spent money on.

overwatch killed it because some idiot said they were similar and most started believing it.

My dumbass deletes all my old emails unfortunately lol. And saying it was because of Fortnite is sort of glossing over a lot. Yes, that's ultimately what happened to the Paragon team, but there was a shit ton of stuff that happened in the years leading up to that point. Specifically Tencent wanting to change the focus of the game, which eventually forced Steve Superville out the door. But, again, that's another conversation entirely.

But yes, the money was spent on cosmetic stuff mostly. Skins and emotes, that kind of thing.

you know they offered refunds, right?
idk if they still do, but it was all over the ps4/paragon board/communites. you could get a full refund by submitting a ticket with proof of each purchase

Yeah, I did get about $150 back but the problem with the refund policy is that Epic asks for specific dates and times of purchase to go along with the dollar amounts, however the PSN doesn't list the names of what you were buying in your purchase history (as far as I could find anyway). I buy a lot of stuff off PSN so I could really only guess at what was for Paragon and what wasn't. I got the refund for the $100 Master Founder pack (as I've only ever spent more than that on a single purchase one other time so it was easy to spot) and $50 I spent to buy all the skins they put out in their first Halloween event because I remembered the date specifically.

Gotta say, I really miss that game. It had so much potential. Which is honestly why I think Tencent sabotaged it. They wanted a SMITE competitor, not a LoL competitor...but that's another conversation entirely lol.

I don't play mobile games any more. I used to play hearthstone daily (had to complete those quests). I don't think I've played that game in at least a year. I love that game, but I don't think I'll ever go back-too many expansions and what not.

None. Is this actually a common thing? It's not like watching TV, it's kinda' hard to play a game if I'm so tired I could fall asleep right then and there.

Yeah I've never fallen asleep playing a game. My brain won't let me. Can't even fall asleep while watching a movie. Roommate does all the time though, we'll be playing something and I'll look over and he's just out. I would pay to be able to fall asleep like that honestly. It takes me hours even when I'm tired.

That's a bad angle to take honestly. You could point at FIFA, Madden, any number of F2P console games, and a whole mess of others, and make the same comparison. Hell there are even ports of actual mobile games on PS4 and Steam.

Meanwhile there are games like Baldur's Gate, every mainline Final Fantasy through 7, a bunch of Dragon Quest titles, and many many others available on mobile.

I think your argument might be that "F2P, or gacha, games are not real games" not the blanket statement that "mobile games are not real games".

Don't think you'll be reading much of anything about the game dawg. It's pretty much dead in the water and won't hold a playerbase for more than a couple weeks.

Well, hope you have fun with it, I guess. Enjoy the RNG character creation, useless VATS system, overly easy PvE, and lack of narrative direction.
Provided you can get the game to run for more than 30 minutes at a time without crashing, anyway.
