Well yeah, I mean if you're watching backwards that's quite a leap. The idea is to trudge through the first 6 episodes, which aren't even that bad, just more like the office (so if you like *that* kinda humor then yeah) and afterwards enjoy the rampant improvement in season 2, and then afterwards be blown away by just how great season 3 onwards becomes (I'm assuming, stopped at the beginning of season 5 after all)

Just tell them you dont feel like hanging out. And stress rescheduling. Not everything needs a made up excuse.

Very true. I've done that. But he's also a bit of a... well, his feelings get hurt easy and he's extra sensitive at times.

Sometimes I think, I don't want to lose him as a friend, other times I think I need to tell him that I don't like going out at night (nighttime is for sleeping) and that if he wants to hang out with me, we can do it during the day and that's it. Which he'll say no to.

Some more backstory: he's nocturnal, a nightowl, while I'm diurnal, a morning person. He likes to stay up all night, while I like to sleep early and wake up at 5-6 am. I can't remember how we became friends because we're polar opposites but we just are, it's one of those things out of movies/tv shows.

Also he actually has a skin condition which is why he doesn't go out in the sun. I forget what it's called, it's the one that pale people get, photosensitivity or something, where exposure to sunlight can actually cause skin problems, which is part of why he's nocturnal. I however am as brown as dark chocolate (the 80% cocoa kind) and need sunlight near constantly. Sometimes I just marvel at how different we are but he's just a really sweet, good looking guy.

They should just make them bigger then they are advertised as. Use the extra space for the needed shit. And then when the extra shit is dealt with, your left with......the advertised amount

Nah I can't expect them to do that, because then they wouldn't be screwing consumers.

Actually I wonder if what they're doing is legally correct or if people can sue them? Technology is different, but I remember there was a case where people were measuring cereal from a certain company and all of it was less than the advertised amount by several grams, so if a cereal box purports to have 100 grams they measured and it was only 95, or less, with every single box. They apparently were able to make a case out of it and may have won. So it makes me wonder if this can hold true for storage space.

The other day saw a fricking demo was 20+ GB. 20 freaking gb! Honestly I think that's insane, even regardless of the fact that I made a huge technological leap, having previously been comfortable with all my old stuff from mid 2000s era.

It's just way too high, and storage space isn't keeping up, and I'm surprised it's not something the mainstream talk about. Of course they just automatically sync their data with the cloud and don't care about any of this so it's a moot point I suppose.

Yeah I think I heard something like that too. It's really annoying. I was already pretty surprised/annoyed that we haven't reached petabyte levels of hdd yet for purchase considering how we have all this super duper HDness and 4k and all that other mumbo jumbo.

So just when I made my peace with that, now I am reminded that actual storage space is way less the more you purchase.

Still can't believe there aren't 1 petabyte hdds yet. Or even 500 TB as a start. Hell I'll take 250 TB at this point. I mean my god are we really supposed to delete data and redownload it again? Like it was the 2000s? Like 10+ years haven't past?

Sigh it's quite frustrating.

What the fucking fuck fuck. I mean come on companies, that's too much of a scam. I would accept as low as only 3.8 TB available, but half a terrabyte complete gone? That's nearly 500 GB that I could have put data on. What the hell do they need that 300-400 gigabytes for anyway?

I mean it's too much of a ripoff. Anything less than 3.8 is not good, especially when we're talking terabytes here.

Wasn't gonna comment but Every Time I see this topic I think "how is the first one so good, so enjoyable, even as a non shooter fan, while the rest are hot steaming garbage?"

I mean a game is truly special when you like it despite disliking the genre of gameplay it presents. Not so much the sneaking around which is fine (though of course clunky in comparison to the sequels) but the shooting (which is even worse and again improved in the sequels)

But even with the sequels offering technically better gameplay, they're just a chore to play. From their story, to their nauseatingly long winded codecs, not to mention cutscenes that I debate skipping since I'm just checking my phone anyway (which I started to do by 3, having had enough of their blabbing)

But MGS 1... there's just something about it. The soundtrack that everyone keeps posting, the codec conversations, the je ne sais quoi aspect of it all. Freaking Liquid Snake and that amazing voice, which we pretty much never got to hear ever again. The members of foxhound. It was just some really good stuff.

And it's weird because mgs 1 was basically a remake of metal gear 2 which was a remake of metal gear. Kojima made the same game 3 times but I enjoyed every one of them. Then mgs 2 hit and even appreciating it on the meta level about video game sequel analysis, it just started getting weirder and less fun from there.

MGS 1 really is a great game though. They never were able to capture that enjoyment feeling until mgr revengeance rising with raiden, which is ironic because kojima didn't even make it haha.

Before it may have been acceptable since that's all that was going to be occupying my time, but now that I have a life I don't know when I'm going to watch all these new shows and new seasons of shows, as well as older stuff I've put on the backburner for a later date that still hasn't come.

We're talking hundreds of hours of footage. And that's just for media to watch. I may not have as many video games, but the games I do have might offer even longer time for me to sink into.

I usually don't mind that at all, but there is a downside to watching something 3-5 years after everyone else has watched it and moved on, or playing something 7 years after everyone has already played it and discussed it. Sometimes you want to be able to join in the discussions.

Mostly when other characters play off him like Ron, Tom, and of course Andy.

he's just really out of place

in the more serious/grounded first season he is kind of an asshole, basically a plot device for the leslie knope character, someone for her to pine over for comedic effect.

and then in season 2, when the writers take the show in a new direction & things start to get sillier, mark is still just kind of there, not really interesting, still not likable, doesn't really have any chemistry with anyone, etc. he gets shoehorned into plotlines with Anne but never feels like he fits or has any reason to be on the show.

All very true. I mean after all he's a city planner, so he's not part of the parks and rec group. He's not really main cast material so much as recurring character material, like joe the sewage guy.

The first game Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is still my favorite because of its more action rpg elements combined with symphony of the night/zelda style top-down dungeon gameplay. It's the best one. And dat voice acting good god.

Soul Reaver is also good but ugly as sin, due to the ruined world. But still doesn't stop it from being ugly especially on ps1. It's more straight up action adventure and zelda-ish but like 85% of the puzzles are block pushing based which is what drags this game down. Also that voice acting, my god it's amazing, and tony jay is in it too.

Soul Reaver 2 is the last good one worth playing. Beautiful, fun puzzles, and of course incredible voice acting. A little on the short side though.

No comment on Blood Omen 2 and Defiance.

The first Blood Omen, oh my God, Kain just would not shut up. I mean don't get me wrong, I love the character and I love Simon Templeman, but it's almost like he was getting paid by the word.

Soul Reaver 1 was actually the first PS1 game I ever played. Michael Bell gave a fantastic performance, and I always love different takes on vampires and their abilities, but my best friend agreed with you; as he put it to me in an email, "Agony, thy name is block puzzle."

Yeah, the only good puzzles were actually the boss battles with the other vampires. That was the most memorable thing gameplay wise.

Also that's literally the best part of blood omen what are you even on about? I literally go to the menu and click on the items again and again just to hear Kain describe said items. Like the heart of darkness. Janus Audron. Squee that voice gives me goosebumps, I love listening to it. I don't understand not liking listening to it again and again. It's the best part.

I always feel bloated after lunch and we eat white rice 6 days a week. Tried different foods like chicken fajitas with brown tortillas. My stomach actually feels empty like I didn't just eat. Usually with white rice it feels like I can feel the food ballooning in my stomach.

The white rice is cooked with a ton of corn oil so that's also a reason, it's not cooked healthily like how they do in Japan with the steaming or that other thing where they put it in water and then eat it directly, like some kinda porridge or some such.

Lol the cop Leslie dates in the beginning of season 2 is Louis CK. Back then I wasn't really aware of stand up comedians so I'm eager to see who else I recognize as well as jokes I didn't pick up on the first time.

@Vol2tex Well I'm not the best person to ask since I made a huge jump from an s5 to s9+ . So naturally I hate it, since the lack of buttons or just a button is incredibly annoying. And I just can't seem to get rid of the vibration completely. Like when the phone is off and I hard press the area that's supposed to be the home button, it gives a slight vibration jolt and I fucking hate it. I hate any amount of vibration.

I hate the edge screen design, it's stupid as hell. I hate the subtle changes compared to the old phone and how I keep having to google how to get everything exactly right the way I like it when it comes to smartphone screens. I just hate nearly everything about it. I'm something of a luddite, but only in terms of liking the simple things like browsing and watching youtube and whatsapping.

The battery lasts longer but that's not really a testament to the phone so much as the fact that it's new. Same with the speed, it's not really a sign of the phone's quality so much since it's brand new compared to a sluggish 4 year old phone.

Otherwise, I'm sure for people who are not me, they'd probably love all the extra doodads and gizmos the phone comes with, if you're into that sorta thing.

If it's not on YouTube or any specialist game soundtrack forums anywhere you could connect a jack lead from the DS headphone port into your PC soundcard's line-in and record a straight digital rip that way.

Love is an Open Door is nice but it's tainted by the twist ending later that makes you look back on that scene differently

The great songs throughout the movie are actually the very thing that betray the fact that Disney obviously didn't have a real script going while making the movie and kept making changes and revisions, hence them changing the villain of the movie and then planting their feet with their message of not being too trusting which just makes me roll my eyes considering the rest of the movie. It's just an excuse that worked in their favor with the twist and how people actually bought it.

But then again that whole movie soundtrack is great, though it's a shame what a waste of screen time and song the damn rock trolls was. Waste of precious minutes and their entire presence/song could have been cut for more development of the characters and maybe fine tuning the obviously gone-through-development hell-and-several-rewrites script.
