There are exceptions to nearly everything. Depending on how a person feels about an issue, that will sway whether or not they deem the issue as an exception.

We are humans and easily influenced by emotions, therefore we are sometimes not objective.

I'm on the fence about it. On one hand, bullies litter our schools, so I can understand why a parent would want to keep their child safe from that. And then the fear of school shootings, but one can't live in fear of every possible unfortunate event. On the other hand, socialization...

However, I have heard rumors that their have been great strides in that area. That home school kids get opportunity to interact with other kids on field trips and such.

Not sure how true that is.

Only offensive if the receiver is offended by them. Subjective.

No, that's not how this works. "I don't get offended by the N word so it's not offensive" is def. not how this works

It surely is offensive to a great many people. I take offense when i hear the word spewed. Still subjective.

Only offensive if the receiver is offended by them. Subjective.

You wouldn't be saying it if the intent wasn't to be offensive. You recognize the fact that it's offensive, that's why it's being said, so the receiver can be offended.

Seems to fit into the "this is offensive" category pretty well.

Sure. I agree that the N word is offensive, and would never say it or tolerate it being said (if I can help it). It's still subjective, tho.

It's really not. There is no alternative meaning to the n-word other than it's offensive one. Playing coy doesn't make the word any less offensive.

How someone takes it, is subjective. If it invokes your emotion, it's subjective. Said receiver may not be offended. 100 other people might be. If we want to get down to it, it could be argued that good and evil are subjective. Right and wrong. The word is most solely used to be offensive toward someone else, but how they feel about it is where the subjective aspect lies.

What the hell is with Americans idolizing Nasizm? What happened to the days where the only good Nazi was a dead Nazi?

The 2016 election happened

Imagine being so fucking stupid that you believe shit like this. "Trump made people racist/comfortable with being racist cuz.. cuz..... HES A BIG RACIST NAZI DOODOO HEAD REPUBLICAN!!!"

Enjoy being ignorant to how the world really works.

You're ignorant if you don't believe that Trump's election didn't galvanize the alt-right and white nationalist portions of US society. Especially since he himself plays that crowd like a fiddle.

Nice facts and examples and citations. Obama literally had black panthers side with him.

Sad, how this earth is spinning into eventual oblivion, and we will forever waste our time eternally locked in this "all members of differing parties/races/beliefs/etc than me are all the same, terrible person" feud of idiocy. Why are humans too dumb to have peace and coexistence? Hint: if you instantly thought "durrr cuz da Republicans/Democrats" you're the problem.
George Washington was literally right about political parties destroying the nation. All the historians who warned us about this shit were right. Why are people so self-absorbed and dont give a shit about their fellow mankind except a select few?
But this whole "durr all Republicans/Democrats are racist, all [X]s are [Y]s" simple-minded idiotic bullshit has to stop before we can ever achieve peace. Mental illness is on the rise for whatever reason, and in turn, so is this new trend of the love of outrage/having someone to hate/be mad at. How are people so blind as to not be able to see that shit like "Dear White People" and other racist generalizations and remarks about white people and racial slurs like "cracker" are okay but all other races are off limits? Yet white people are still the big bad oppressors. Or are we goofy, timid, athletically-inferior, non-dancing, snuggies-wearing motherfuckers? Or are people just people regardless of race and every race has good and bad? Mankind really needs a wakeup call...

An alt melting down? No surprise here.

They do have kind of a point, tho. We do tend to get hung up on these things, while we circle the drain to oblivion.

It depends. 1940s Nazis, who have personally put many innocent people to death? Do more than just punch them.

Modern day angsty teenager who thinks he's a kewl rebel? Slap him around a little bit, but probably not a full on closed fist punch.

It seems that a lot of people here don't know the difference between the two.

They deemed this particular prisoner as irredeemable garbage waste, which I can agree.

That's a very common sentiment in the prison system among guards and prisoners alike when it comes to child molesters/rapists/killers. You can be a serial rapist and/or killer and nobody bats an eyelash at your presence, but if you have brought serious harm to a child, everyone, and I mean everyone, treats the prisoner as infinitely worse than pond scum.

I think for most it's an instinct to protect children.

In an apocalypse world, I think I could eventually train myself to being okay with killing adult men, when I had to, but I don't think I would ever be able to justify killing a woman or a child. Definitely not a child. I'd have a hard time living with myself, even if it was an extreme self defense scenario like a child bomber.

Someone who willingly, and with great joy, goes out and rapes/kills a child? What are we suppose to do with that, other than kill it with fire?

DISCLAIMER: DO NOT READ IF EASILY OFFENDED

One of the security guards here used to be a prison guard at our local pen, and he told me a pretty messed up story involving an encounter he had while working there.

So, while on one of his shifts he was standing guard in a psychiatrist appointment for a prisoner. During the appointment, he heard the prisoner talking to the doctor, going over the atrocious act that landed him in prison. (STOP READING HERE) Apparently, the guy had kidnapped a 12 year old girl, took her to a barn to rape her, and dismember her body. The police tracked him down, but it was too late, as he had already dismembered most of her body. Evidently, he was committing neophilia as the police entered the barn.

Toward the end of the session, the doctor asked the prisoner what his biggest regret in life was, and the prisoner looked at him and said "I didn't get to finish.". The doc puzzled and regretfully asked "Finish what?" and the prisoner responded with "I didn't get to finish removing her head before the police came in.".

At this point, my buddy (the prison guard) had heard enough and was absolutely disgusted by what he heard. When the appointment was over, the guard was tasked with transporting the prisoner back to his cell. While in transit, the prisoner could tell that the details had struck a nerve with the guard, so he decided to keep talking about it as they walked. My friend kept telling him to shut up, that he didn't want to hear it, and the prisoner popped off with "what are you going to do about it?". The guard responded (professionally) with "nothing, unless you make me.". They walked a little further, and the prisoner blind sided my friend and attacked him. My friend is a pretty big guy, bigger than the inmate, so he was able to turn on him and hit him in the arm with his baton, with enough force to nearly break the prisoners arm. You'll be pleased to know that the prisoner fell to the ground and literally cried tears like a child.

Of course, this was an incident, so reports had to be filled and there had to be a hearing over it. The prisoner cried assault in the hearing, but everything was recorded on CCTV, so it was easy to see that the guards actions were justified. The funny thing is, most EVERYONE, including the judge, had wished that my friend had just killed the inmate. They deemed this particular prisoner as irredeemable garbage waste, which I can agree.

There's not really any point to this story, other than I'm appalled by it. I guess the moral could be: some people are unrepentant trash, as they are proud of their horrendous acts, and it would be appropriate to just put them to death immediately.

God, I wish this was a copypasta.

What are your thoughts on this?
