I think it's because of the status of the west not having war conflicts in their countries like during the world wars. So everybody is more relaxed.

I think religion is really important when you know you are being sent off somewhere and there is a strong chance that you will die and never come back so you would pray to have safe passage and be strong when the moment arrives.

Also according to to these. Despite what the media is always focusing on the conflict in the middle east, and always looking for trouble. This is the most peaceful era in human history compared to the past on a global scale. This would also help increase the lack of interest in religion.

I thought Japan was a very workaholic country to the point that the Japanese prefer to work up to 18 hours every day of the week and ignore everything else to do with their lives, such as falling in love, etc.

If they are refusing to change from this. Then the natural way of increasing their population is already failing so artificial insemination has to be the way to go. The men should just yank one out in their breaks between shifts at sperm banks and the increase of wet nurses will be needed for the women during their pregnancy periods.

When i was a kid, i couldn't stand watching football (AFL in my country) cos it would go on for hours and i mean 4 to even 6 hours.

I grew up playing/watching/breathing AFL, and it never lasts 4-6 hours. 3 hours max. Unless you refer to pre/post match coverage, in which case in Victoria it's 24 hours.

It went from 12pm (which includes the pre lunch celebration and kids activites shown on live TV while peordically showing the players in waiting rooms getting ready.) The games started at 1:30 and lasted until 5pm, then it was an hour of post game commentary and celebrations.

Nowadays, this is shorten down and pre game stuff is removed except for the grand final due to financial costs.

I found it insanely boring.
