Something tells me we need to know the whole story.

too much effort

It's not like I update that blog all the time. I did promise 30 days for twitter though, so once you commit to something, you commit.

for over a decade.

My account hasn't even been here that long.

stop taking it so f***ing seriously

I have never been the aggressor. Everything is in reaction to their taking my messages so seriously, they think it's some danger to the site that they HAVE to remove, when it's not.

I was the first (and probably one of the only) users to get modded for posting any news article on the Politics board.

Mods at the time had decided that any link with more than 2-3 sentences of quotes pulled from it was "plagiarism" even if you linked to it and never claimed it was your own. That's...not even the definition of plagiarism (you can do block quotes in an academic paper as long as you cite it). Plus, oh yeah, this is not f***ing high school and nobody is submitting messages to mods for grades. But whatever.

What happened was they did the "plagiarism" rule unannounced, so nobody knew about it, but of course I was one of the first ones hit by it (telltale sign that some mod or somebody close to them doesn't like me). In theory, you'd never be able to link/quote news articles ever again on a news board. In practice, people who knew the secret "rules" of the site would selectively apply them against accounts they didn't like. So there were plenty of links that were never touched and nobody knew what was going on, and it was all bogus.

Eventually the mods admitted to the unannounced rule change and then pulled it because of complaints (also unannounced). This site is really awful at communication.

Anyone bring these up yet?

https://www.breitbart.com/immigration/2018/07/06/mass-migration-advocates-fan-fear-trump-implements-obama-anti-fraud-plan/

Pro-amnesty activists are claiming sadism, racism, and brutality as President Donald Trumps immigration agency implements an anti-fraud plan drafted under former President Barack Obama.

Since 2017, the Justice Department has moved to strip citizenship from an al Qaeda operative, a fake family of diversity-lottery winners, a child-molester and a migrant who defrauded other migrants.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/doj-moves-to-rescind-naturalized-us-citizenship-of-chicago-man-who-provided-support-to-terrorists

DOJ moves to rescind naturalized US citizenship of Chicago man who provided support to terrorists

Khaleel Ahmed, originally from India, pleaded guilty in 2009 for providing material support to terrorists and for traveling overseas in pursuit of murdering or harming U.S. military forces in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Ahmed, along with his cousin Zubair Ahmed, traveled to Cairo, Egypt, with plans to participate in activity that would kill or hurt U.S. military forces. After returning from Cairo, the men became knowledgeable with operating firearms and counter-surveillance techniques. Likewise, they gathered and distributed videos of violence on U.S. military forces abroad and guides on military strategies and weaponry.

The (U.S.) will use every available law enforcement tool to combat terrorism, Acting Associate Attorney General Jesse Panuccio said in a statement. Those who are naturalized in the (U.S.) swear to support and defend our Constitution and laws against all enemies. Those who have actively supported terrorism and concealed that fact cannot take that oath in good faith and should not have the benefit of continued citizenship.

Seems obvious that this would be a good thing. Or at least, the Obama administration itself thought so, until they decided they needed to politicize with new talking points.

The press shouldn't falsely claim there's no history when there's almost a 20 year history. When someone's in the country illegally, they're here illegally every day - it's not like there's a statute of limitations.

a guy who had been posting here for a bit over a decade somehow straight up had a racial slur for a username. Marked the dude for months and nothing. It wasn't until I b****ed to the mods through various means and it resulted in me getting warned, then they finally suspended the guy.

I know how that goes. More than once I brought up a mod's violations, they modded ME for linking to them, but the original messages would always stay up.

As a guy who's seen it all before on 261, the responses are usually split into 2 categories:

- personal attack (I'm a brony, a furry, a "Buffalo elitist" whatever that means, and a lot of other things)

- "I don't believe the source" attack on a website's credibility (it doesn't matter if it's something easily verifiable anywhere, like the president gave a speech to all the cameras. If the particular source used is something they don't personally like, it didn't happen)

Why do this? Well, what else would you expect someone to do when they're wrong about something? Maybe sometimes they'll own up to it, but you're also just going to see them gripe about it and complain about the messenger.

And I'm also a little amused to see the same excuses given here that I've seen all the time ("we 'win' the arguments! He just runs away!") There's a wide, wide world out there, folks. They act like I abandoned the place when it hasn't even been a day, and I'll be back around the same time next night. I'm not going to be here holding your hand every waking hour because you have a personal problem with the source I used, and yeah, I probably won't respond to a post like "ur a brony" or "lol breitbart" because there isn't anything of value there to respond to.

More terrorist attacks from the Palestinians. Saying "nice job Trump" would be like if they beheaded 55 women for dressing immodestly and their defenders said "nice job women."

I couldn't think of a better split-screen moment to demonstrate the stark difference between the two sides. Israel, representing democracy, peace and international cooperation, vs the raging tire fire of Palestinian Hamas terrorism. Territory which Israel unilaterally pulled out of, only for the Palestinians to ravage and destroy worse than a horde of locusts.

Thank God Hillary lost, and people like her should never be in charge of anything. We don't want the entire region to look like that s***hole Palestine, which they've been propping up with their aid money for decades - and it only goes to terrorists. We want to defeat terrorism and end the Palestinian brutality.

Considering the power levels and scale of Infinity War and Thor Ragnarok this excuse surely can't hold up to scrutiny anymore.

Superman's lack of character doesn't have anything to do with what Marvel does. I don't find Thor very relatable or thrilling either, but this is a relative argument. Just looking at Superman in absolute terms, he's always been a cardboard cutout. To this day I don't think DC gets it, at least not the movies. His "personal life" has no value other than serving as a cover in between his whoop-de-doo-I'm-a-superhero scenes. There's no man there. You could almost replace him with an inanimate object and people couldn't tell the difference.

TaiIs82

It's a TaiIs82 Rule: you can't strawman the left. They'll always find some way to outdo any caricature made of them.

"there is never a reason to carry a knife. Anyone who does will be caught, and they will feel the full force of the law."

If you were a woman in Britain, how would you defend yourself from someone trying to do you harm?

The criminals are very excited, and more defenseless women will be raped.

Really, the larger issues remains to be the severe cuts to the police force

This is often what the left says once the programs always seem to fail the most in the areas they control (it's never corruption). Even if it were the case, Khan was pushing for the cuts big time.

https://twitter.com/RaheemKassam/status/981970364099190785

The mayor's 180 is an admission that it's the conservative approach that actually works to stop crime, not the left's, and they all know it.

Another thing about the cuts: if the police were desperate for funding, then why do they dedicate their scarce funds to priorities like trans workshops and SJW discussion groups? Somehow they always have the resources for those.

http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/04/03/uk-police-trained-lgbt-needs/

Little girls were getting raped for decades while the cops spent their time painting their cars in rainbow colors and sitting indoors all day going after twitter H8 posts. They aren't wanting for money. Their priorities are wrong.

The mayor doesn't have the power to ban knives. The central government does. If you want the "knife ban" to end, you should be focusing on the Conservative government not mayors.

This is also true. The so-called Conservatives are often just as bad. The establishment is locked arm in arm with each other. Britain really needs another Thatcher figure to clean up the mess.

I would actually argue aggressively against this. From a disease perspective, from a monetary perspective...I'm not a fan of sports either, and yes I know I'm saying this on a video game message board, but people waste so much on irrelevant things. Every time some animal charity has the money to run an ad campaign on TV, I wonder how many starving humans could've been fed with that money.

As for the people who have insulted anti-dog users ITT, calling them bad people and so on, we don't have to put up with this. It's quite the opposite, actually. Just looking at what pet owners themselves say, I think it's clear who we'd want to be around if our lives are ever in danger:

https://www.dailywire.com/news/27088/walsh-pets-matt-walsh

Also, no, I'm tired of the trope that "the dog knows it did wrong." It is 100% projection of human feelings onto an animal:

Dog owners talk way too much about their dogs as well, as if I'm interested. And if your dog is your "best friend," I think that says something about your human relationships.

I got an Infowars guy once at work. Then he started going off on something about Saturn. There was also this lady who was convinced the group she was meeting up with did not, in fact, reschedule like it said on the calendar, but was secretly holding its meeting and hiding from her in our basement as part of some bigoted plot by the village board (the board was not remotely tied to the event but this was part of her broader conspiracy). She later got arrested for throwing flowerpots at people.

As for my parents, I love them but the tech questions are just adorable. I'll never forget the 2 questions I got from them within 24 hours of each other:

1) "Is a Wii disc infecting my computer with viruses?" (if so, I congratulate that master hacker)

2) "Do you think it's the lawnmower that's interfering with the internet?" (uh no, that would be you wedded to AOL until 2014 and then picking the cheapest alternative from there)

No more random piles of garbage or just deciding to randomly pull out the contents of every drawer when she walked into a room. No more physical fights, especially with the youngest brother who was therefore weaker, and then pretending to cry and acting like he started the fights (I don't have to speculate - she flat out said this to mock him when he was sent to his room). And a whole bunch of other awful behavior that got the cops called on her once, and kicked out of the house for months more than once.
